Many things happened the night of the Fall Formal that surprised Sunset Shimmer. Becoming a demon, gaining friends, and becoming hated by everyone else (well, most things surprised her). The one thing she absolutely couldn't have seen coming was finding a girlfriend.

Rarity has been the best thing to happen to her in a long time. Rarity is always there when Sunset needs her. So when their friends start a band, sirens enact their sinister plans, a princess returns, with all of it culminating in a massive magical battle for the fate of the world, it's good that Sunset has Rarity.

After all, with all the stress and insanity it helps to have someone you love.

Apple Bloom really screwed up this time. Her newest Twilight Time project, a body switching potion, fell into the hooves of Ponyville's resident DJ.

Now Vinyl and Octavia are stuck in each other's bodies with no way to change back. Looks like they'll have to learn to live like this for a while.

What happened between the Goddess of the Sun and the Conduit of the Swarm-mind? Is it just another plot to take over Canterlot, or might there be more under the carapace of the queen than anybody expected? Well, we'll never find out if nobody stops her and Twilight from killing each other first...

Echo is a high ranking changeling officer. The Canterlot invasion was going perfectly, and her battalion had personally defeated the Elements of Harmony. Suddenly, she finds herself far flung from Canterlot, crashing into the Everfree forest. Now she is faced with a difficult reality - her hive, the only family she's ever known, no longer exists, and she must adapt to life as a pony. What she finds out about herself, though, will surprise her.

Rated Teen for occasional suggestiveness and language, tagged gore for brief violence, particularly in later chapters.

Dark because later chapters get pretty ... well, dark.

This story is now, as of this addendum, five years old. It is getting more attention as I put out new chapters on the sequel.

I recognize that this story has problems, and that some of them by their nature carry over to the sequel; please remember that when I started writing this, I was not yet even old enough to legally drink in the US. A lot has happened and a lot has changed, and there are many things about this story I regret including, but which it is now too late to change. Some of those things I have simply done my best to ignore and make irrelevant, but some of them are errors from a 19 year old me that will haunt me until the sequel is finished.

In short, please be gentle.

Since her return Luna has secretly set up an organisation within the governments of the nations of Equestria, ready to obey any orders given. Now in the wake of a huge fight with her sister, Luna, along with her long lost daughter, shall cease control of the kingdom and bring an end to Celestia's reign.

Sequel

The four remaining Jaegers(Crimson Typhoon, Gipsy Danger, Striker Eureka and Cherno Alpha) with 2 Kaiju's(Otachi and Leatherback) got teleported into Equestria. With an unexpected twist of turn that the Kaiju's could talk to the Jaegers and helping them, they must find a way to escape before they are caught by Princess Celestia, who wants to reverse engineer the Jaegers for their own use.

Meanwhile, Twilight and her friends comes up to another, but rather inoperable and deserted Jaeger, Coyote Tango. Putting their risks to the very limit, they must pilot the Mark I and help the remaining Mark I, III, IV and V Jaegers to escape, and might come up one of the most honorable but sad decision.

Being corrupted by the Element of Magic and purged by the Magic of Friendship is a lot for one to go through in one night. In the aftermath, Sunset Shimmer was willing to give this friendship thing a try. And sharing a moment with a generous soul might be what she needs to get the ball rolling.

And that moment might even lead to something more.

It’s a word I grew up around, but never fully understood.
Mother always talked about it, but I never got it. After all, there were hundreds of us, almost a thousand. How could we go extinct?
Mother always talked about the time before, when there were thousands of us. If I was good, she would tell me the story of the wicked ponies of Equestria, and how they drove us out here into the badlands.
Back then, “extinction” was just a far-off word that Mother always harped over, almost as much as her “Grand Plan” to take over Canterlot and then “all of Equestria would fall before her.”
Now Chrysalis is gone, her grand plan failed, and the last changeling hive is in shambles.
And extinction isn’t just a word anymore.
