After her jettison from Canterlot, Lilo is discovered by a rather malicious and motivated unicorn. Although he employs her to work for him - if it can even be called employment - slowly she is succumbing to hunger as her love stores deplete. She needs to find another source of love fast if she wishes to survive, but when she comes across a certain pegasus, she must decide for herself whether or not love is real or just a chemical reaction.

Octavia takes a walk to her favorite hillside, along the way she remembers the times she's shared with her love, Vinyl Scratch.

It's over. That's what Octavia had said to Vinyl Scratch. Nevermore would she feel the warmth of her lover's lips upon hers...but she would feel the cold sensation of the whiskey bottle instead.

After being apart for five years, Vinyl finds out that Octavia got married. Knowing there is no way she can have back what they once had, Vinyl feels alone. She won't let anybody in. She won't let anybody help. She just wants to forget her biggest mistake: letting Octavia go.

This takes place after the events of Autograph by RushingAutumnLeaves. I suggest you read that story first.
