It’s two in the morning and everypony in Canterlot Castle is asleep. Everypony, that is, except for Twilight and Cadence.

A changeling emerges from the Evergreen Forest and collapses unconscious in the square of Ponyville. A note is found that says they're seeking asylum, but is this for real, or is it a trick?

I thought this up the other day. It's a standalone story that I don't plan on writing a lot for, but may make a sequel that explores the main character.

EDIT 1/30/2021 4:15PM EST - I've added the final chapter and changed the rating to teen on account of mentioning blood and sex.

Thorax has been living in the Crystal Empire for some time now and ponies are adjusting to the idea of living with a changeling. One day, on a walk with Sunburst, Thorax learns about the holiday Hearth's Warming and decides that he'll make a gift to show his thanks to the ponies that have made his new life possible - The Royal Family.

This is a collaboration I've been working on with theOwtcast for the past month or so, and is set in something of an AU to their story The Odd One (kind of like the timeline is set up that part of the story coincides with the holiday season). Big thanks to theOwtcast for their contributions, especially the artwork they made to feature in the story. I hope everyone reading this enjoys it, and Happy Holidays/Hearth's Warming!

This story presents a what if scenario.

What would have happened if Thorax had sought out Princess Cadance and Shining Armor upon reaching the Crystal Empire, instead of hiding in the frozen wastelands to be found by Spike? Would the Crystal Ponies be willing to accept him, or is he getting in over his head? More importantly, what will the two rulers, the same whose wedding was almost ruined by his kind, decide to do with him?

Takes place before the episode The Times They Are A Changeling, and of course retcons what happens in said episode.

Inspired by stories written by the Owtcast and Carapace.

Thorax wasn't a normal changeling. He wanted friends to share love with, not victims to feed off of. He leaves the hive behind and finds himself in the Frozen North at the Crystal Empire. Follow him on his journey to his ultimate goal of being the first changeling to make friends with ponies.

The story takes place during and after the episode The Times They Are A Changeling, but it doesn't transpire the same way.

I have several chapters completed, but will only release each one after I've edited them and feel they are ready to be released. I'm also rating this teen for the time being, but I may change it to mature because of some ideas I have for later chapters.
