[2nd Person Perspective]

Working as a waiter at Canterlot's various social gatherings is a nice job. Especially since you began chatting with the cello player of the usual quartet, Octavia. You've gotten to know a lot about her, but one night there seems to be something on her mind. You offer her a drink to ease her nerves and you bring your glasses together in cheers.

Next thing you know, you wake up in a strange hotel room in a town you've never been to next to a certain gray mare.

What is the nature of an oath? What is camaraderie?
And what should a guard do, when his background has secrets buried within?

Comet takes his job too seriously. Angel doesn't take anything seriously.

Comet joined to protect kingdom and princess(es). Angel joined for adventure and danger.

Comet isn't interested in mares. Angel can't stop talking about stallions.

Comet is a pegasus. Angel is a bat pony.

Together, this unlikely duo goes through life as Royal Guards from basic training to fully fledged guardsponies. Who knows? Maybe they'll even start to get along.

This more or less came about when I wondered at the backstory of the image, saw several other people doing the same, then decided to make it happen.

Because sometimes, a finale isn't the end. Sometimes, pure evil just means you have more to lose.

A changeling's body is the plaything of her mind - but can a changeling ever really change her stripes?

Also because I've wanted to try something approximating an adventure story for a while. If there's any demand for it, I'll continue it properly, otherwise I'll just wrap it up quickly.

Lock On, one of Princess Celestia's trustworthy and steadfast Royal Guards, has a secret that he can no longer keep. The moment he saw Chrysalis, Queen of the Changelings, he had fallen in love with her. Strongly determined to confess his love, he ventures beyond the known Equestrian border, stepping onto the rocky wasteland that few ponies have ever set hoof on before—and even fewer have returned.

This story is told while alternating viewpoints between Trixie and Twilight Sparkle. The ~~~~ symbolizes a perspective change.
