It’s been two years since Fluttershy became Lost in the Everfree forest and was rescued by the human mage Grendel, curious to know more about humans beyond what Fluttershy told her. Twilight Sparkle decides to visit the Royal Archives in Canterlot but each trips goes without success. On one of her visits however, she is shown by the Royal Archives Scribe, Quill Pen, a secret room that contains an old tome. As she reads it she discovers that not only have there been humans in Equestria before, but what she and every pony knew about the rise and fall of King Sombra…

After they set off to meet with Zecora for a spot of tea and a catch up, Fluttershy and her friends find themselves attacked by a large pack of Timberwolves causing Fluttershy to become separated from the group. After becoming wounded and lost deep within an unfamiliar part of the forest and with the wolves on her tail, she is rescued from certain death by the most unusual creature.

At her coronation after-party, Twilight gets a little freaked out at the prospect of growing into her new life, especially one specific aspect of it. She knows better than anyone that talking her problems over with a friend can help tremendously, but she doesn't have many friends with whom she'd be comfortable talking about this particular problem, let alone ones who would really understand what she's going through.

...unless she broadens her definition of "friend."

Bored one evening, Discord suggests to Celestia that they spice things up by seeing who's best at doing the other's job: he'll handle keeping things harmonious, and she'll be there to throw a big ol' spoonful of chaos into the mix whenever she feels like it. To his surprise, she agrees to do it. He's certain he's got this one in the bag—after all, how hard can something as boring as harmony be?

He shouldn't have underestimated his opponent.

I was known as Frank DeFontaine. I was going to a Halloween party. I was a pretty intelligent kid, starting my first college term, and decided a little dress-up couldn't hurt.
My buddy Richard got involved, though. And like everything, he took it a bit too far. This time, I didn't say no, though. I really should have.
Next thing I know, we're going all-out on making my Dullahan costume. Because he's my favorite optional boss, and all.
Really shoulda known something was up when that guy behind the counter just so happened to have a sword that fit our specifications perfectly.
Next thing I know, I'm in Equestria. And I'm missing a head.
Sakes, I could use a drink. And a neck.
