Are you a pony who travels?

Do you need to communicate on the go?

And do you totally lack any and all dragons in your life?

Then you need -- Slate!

Everypony does!

Unless they can think.

Which just might leave Trixie out.

This story is a sequel to Five Hundred Little Murders

There are ponies who insist on perceiving the Bearers as their Elements, and nothing more. Applejack is seen as having no qualities other than being honest. Rarity simply has to be generous even when doing so would hurt her. And Fluttershy must be kind. To those ponies, if she acted in any other way, no matter what the situation or provocation, it would mean she wasn't truly Kindness at all.

To see kindness as somepony's only possible response to everything is to take the first step in finding ways to abuse it.

To use kindness as the lone option can be worse.

Note: this is a direct sequel to Five Hundred Little Murders and this time, I will recommend reading that one first.

This story is a sequel to A Total Eclipse Of The Fun

Following the events of the second Return Day, Celestia and Luna made a pair of agreements. The second is that it's finally time to correct for a thousand years and more of almost totally nonexistent cooking skills. However, that's going to require teachers. And two very lucky ponies, the recently cross-promoted Solar head chef Anise Verum and her junior sous, Blending Stock, get to be the ones who instruct them.

There are lessons to be learned in that kitchen.

The first concerns how to survive explosions.

Discord feels Fluttershy needs to be a little more assertive when it comes to expressing her own views and maintaining her beliefs against the weight of other arguments, especially when those counter-debates turn... well, personal. Fluttershy doesn't want to risk it.

So Discord mentions a simple fact: two plus two equals five.

Fluttershy naturally disagrees.

It gets worse from there.

In the days after her ascension, every newspaper in Equestria is talking about how Princess Celestia transformed Twilight Sparkle into an alicorn princess.

There's just one problem – Twilight knows that's not what happened.

Why does Celestia let them believe something that isn't true? After all, it isn't like knowing could hurt anypony, right?

When a filly version of herself appears in the middle of the library, Twilight must figure out what happened. She must figure out what it means. But most importantly? She has to comfort the last person she thought she would ever have to.

The average pony would be delighted to wake up and find an adorable little bundle of joy on their doorstep—even more so after having learned it's been delivered by Princess Celestia herself! Now, imagine that this new foal has been chosen by fate to save Equestria's future, and you have a scenario beyond any would-be parent's wildest dreams. How absolutely wonderful would that be?

On a related note, Twilight Sparkle is now a mother. She isn't happy about it.

Written for F*** This Prompt, because no way would I write something like this otherwise. Probably. I think.

Many thanks to Kamikakushi and Dubs Rewatcher for pre-reading.

Winner of Rage Reviews' "F*** THIS PROMPT!!!" #1

Fluttershy finds herself in the unwelcome position of being the subject of a tiny, red-and-black alicorn's crush.

Approved by the Nonpareil Fiction group.

And it earned the following awards for its victory in the prompt contest, receiving both the Angsty Alicorn Award and the Art of the Fanfic Award, right beside each other. Strange, I know.
