He knew that Cecilia vanished into the side of the statue, the same place she lamented the 'mirror closing' two and a half years ago. He threw a rock at it... and it vanished. It was true. He had to find her.

He didn't care about Cecilia's madness, about this 'Equestria' or her obsession with ponies. He loved her. He loved her enough to walk into Hell itself. He would bring her back, no matter what.

Davenport, the shopkeeper of Quills and Sofas, has a secret.

Authors Note: This story might get a lot of down votes because of the topics in the story. But I would rather write a well written story than a popular one.

There is a secret in Equestria. A secret the newly crowned Princess Twilight Sparkle doesn’t dare to believe. Like puppeteers pulling on marionettes, they have influenced Equestria for better and worse since the fall of Discord. So far they have been benevolent, but their potential for evil is vast. What’s worse, she doesn’t know their name. She doesn’t know their mission. All she knows for certain is one thing.

That they all seem to be zebra.

I hung a picture of Rainbow Dash and me on my wall today.

My mother cried.

Set after Twilight's ascension, the previously considered senseless tribes of humans are holding their own against a powerful Griffin invasion set against their civilized homeland.

The humans, as they are, are little more than savage beast with honed killing instincts. The brutality of these abominations is second to none. They fight amongst each other and sell the defeated males into slavery for things that they couldn't produce on their own.

However, they now seem more organized and united now than ever. Which has Celestia worried about a possible growing threat.

Twilight is sent on a mission to learn as much she can about the humans and their tribal ways, and as she continues her journey she begins to unravel the mysteries of a species that perhaps, should have stayed dead.

Twilight is set as the main character in this adventure and is told through her point of view... more or less.

Not 100% percent sure where I'm going with this story, but that's part of the fun, and I know I'll get there eventually.

(Be warned, this fic starts out with some human Vs pony but it is in no way the entire point of the story.)

Humanity came not in silence, not with brilliant fury, but with a single note. A note heard by every unicorn on the face of Equis. They descended upon the planet as beleaguered conquerors and scavengers, taking for themselves, bleeding the land, and forcing the native races to work for their own ends. And the note persisted.

It was an omnipresent reminder of the strangeness and technological supremacy of the invaders. To the Equestrians it was an oppressive victory note played by an instrument they could not hope to understand.

What the Equestrians do not know is that Humanity’s symphony has ended. They witness the diminuendo of what may have been the most technologically and socially advanced race on the plane of existence, but there is no way for them to know. They can not know what it was that broke this once proud song. They can not understand that they are only hearing echoes.

Magnus Crome is a man of admirable repute among the survivors of the Ten Minute War. He's the only one with a still-functioning Jaeger III suit, and thus is the target of much envy and greed.

He fights to protect the weak when they cannot help themselves, always vanishing before he can be thanked. He is a mystery, and he likes to keep it that way. All of this experience will come in handy, fortunately, when an anomaly that is still the topic of debate among many ponies occurs and he is taken from his own world and placed within another.

He is received with mixed results at the other end.

Kind of a more serious, less random and less comedic version of "The Monster In The Closet."

But... but Trixie is starting to doubt that other ponies think so... she's starting to think that maybe her parents were right.. Trixie... Trixie might be wrong...
