Apple Bloom comes home late from crusading afraid of being punished for being gone so long. The next morning, her concerns quickly shift when she can't find her family... or anypony else. Are they all out looking for her and her friends, or has something gone terribly wrong? And what is that sound that keeps getting closer?

A prequel of sorts to Twilight's Library.

After the changelings' failed invasion of Canterlot, Twilight tries to soothe some of Ponyville's rampant paranoia by casting a spell to prove there are no imposters hiding in the town. But her spell leaves her in an alien body, facing a mob of angry ponies who just don't believe her when she says she is Twilight Sparkle.

Or, at least, she was Twilight Sparkle, anyway...

It occurred one peaceful night. Half of Equestria awoke to the sound like a double-shot thunderclap. A percussion heard in the skies and rattling windows from Apploosa, to Canterlot, to Ponyville. Nopony knew what it was or what it heralded for the world as it drew a line across the nation.

For Twilight Sparkle, this isolated incident might have faded from memory after a time, if not for the strange rumors of a creature sitting on the hill on the outskirts of town.

Apple Bloom asks an honest question.

Everypony knows that a thousand years ago, Princess Luna was cursed into becoming Nightmare Moon. As a result, Princess Celestia reluctantly banished her younger sibling to the moon to safeguard Equestria. What no one knows, not even Celestia herself, is that Luna didn't get sent to the moon as intended. Instead she spent a thousand years on a far distant planet, unintentionally becoming an influence on that world's history. She yearns to return home but all she can do is wait. Wait, and the stars will set her free.

Have you ever had a dream that just seemed so real, that it was impossible to say for certain that it was even a dream at all? A dream that, despite all of its impossibilities, seemed to re-write your entire perception of reality, re-writing your sense of what—and indeed, who—you are? Accepting change is hard enough as it is. But when you're a somebody who wakes up as a somepony, how do you cope with the impact such a drastic change has on your mind and body? With changes like these, it must surely just be a lucid dream—albeit a suspiciously accurate one—just brimming with potential and ripe for exploration. So you might as well suck it up and make the most of these distressingly…unusual circumstances, and seize this psychological adventure before you wake up and the dream ends.
After all, this couldn't possibly be real, so the dream must come to an end eventually…right?

It has been several months since the disappearance of Twilight Sparkle..

One night, after watching her sister raise the Moon and set the heavens alight, Princess Celestia begins to bed down for the night, only to be interrupted by portal forming in her room. From out of the portal comes none other than Twilight Sparkle, garbed in strange armor.

Princess Celestia, along with Luna, Cadence, and Shining Armor, are overjoyed by the Element of Magic's return, but are justifiably curious as to where she had been and what she had been doing. And so, Twilight begins her tale. A tale of survival against impossible odds. A tale of a people fighting for the most basic right of all sentient beings. The right to exist.

Golden Bracer, a Lieutenant of Celestia's Royal Guard, has desires that somewould declare shameful, perhaps even indecent. One day, however, these desires find him invited into Princess Celestia's own private quarters. With his honor as a guardspony on the line, Golden Bracer can only hope to keep his secret safe.

Dell Connahger is probably the smartest person on the planet, and seems to have everything going his way. With a PhD at the age of 20, the only thing Dell is missing is a friend. An unquenchable thirst for knowledge and a jury rigged teleporter later, and he finds out just what having friends means when he meets Night Light, a stallion attending magic college in Manehattan. Stripped of any useful knowledge in the world of Equestria, Dell must learn to do something he has never done before: rely on someone else.

Not everything is as it seems when Dinky visits her mother in the hospital.
