The pursuit of science sometimes requires sacrifice. Other times it involves doing something incredibly risky but very rewarding. This time...is somewhere in the middle.

This story takes place within my FiM/Equestria Girls stories and makes subtle references to them. The basic thing is there will be pairings already paired up so don't be surprised.

Twilight is having a sleepover with her best friend (and crush) Sunset Shimmer, and they have the house all to themselves. Unbeknownst to Twilight, Sunset has some plans for the evening.

After storming off in frustration, Sunset realized that she should help Twilight out. After all, the poor pony princess just found out she needs glasses, after years of not wearing them. That has to be hard on her.

And given the fact Twilight might actually return her feelings... Well, Sunset should be a good friend, right?

Worthless, weak, ugly—as far as Twilight is concerned, that's all she'll ever be. Even three months into their relationship, Twilight still refuses to believe that an absolute goddess like Sunset could ever love a loser like her. And it doesn't help that Twilight spends every night being tormented by nightmares of Midnight Sparkle, the one being who hates Twilight more than she hates herself.

Twilight can only remember a single moment in her life when she felt strong: the five minutes that she spent as Midnight Sparkle. The five minutes she spent with magic.

Now, tortured by fear, anxiety, and never-ending nightmares, Twilight knows the only way to win Sunset's love is to make herself stronger—even if that means resurrecting the demon inside of her.
