Back in their high school years, there was a chance meeting between Shining Armor and Prince Blueblood. These ponies couldn't be any more different, but it turns out that each of them has something to teach the other... though there's no telling whether Blueblood will listen.

When Twilight, a very gifted young unicorn, goes to the Summer-Sun Celebration, she is awed by what she sees. She studies magic through books at first, but then she realizes that she should formalize her education. Unfortunately, the formal education system is a trying experience for a gifted filly.

This was written before the season 2 finale

When Prince Blueblood crafts a new magical spell, he is transported to a mystical plane of existence. There, he is informed that he is to become a full-fledged alicorn prince.

He takes it rather well, all things being considered.

Equestria as a whole takes it a small bit less enthusiastically.

In a land of eternal night, a brave band of heroes stood against Nightmare Moon to return the Sun to their world. In a desperate bid for victory, they broke an ancient spell to pull six legendary heroes out of Limbo so that they could do battle with the Night Tyrant.

This is not the story of that battle.

It is the story of the monster that returned with the heroes - and how it found love.

Unfortunately, Twilight soon finds out the reason for that peace is...complicated.
