It was I who raised you from perdition

Castiel? xD

Interesting story so far ... You have my attention!

6035833 This story has my attention.Seems to be going well so far.

I'm confused, mostly by the first time skip. You paint this Wayfinder as a paragon of helping those less fortunate...and then immediately cut to a different one being a colossal antagonistic prick. It's like showing Superman rescuing a kitten trapped in a tree and before seconds later cutting to him punching an old man in the face. It's so jarring as to cause whiplash and I had to reread it at least three times just to figure out what the hell was going on.

Even if you were trying to show what happens when those he helps squander his gifts, you couldn't have had Wayfinder be any more unsympathetic as he is, especially here:

“You can’t just play with ponies' lives like this! It’s not fair! So I messed up a little, you can’t just cast me out like some piece of trash! What’ll I do for a living?! Where will I go?!” his voice squeaked a little, for he was still young in the body.

“I don’t care,” said the black Pegasus sourly.

I'm siding with the drop-out here! He can punish him or cut off any further assistance without turning into Lex Luthor. The only failure I see here is the jerk of a Pegasus. Was this scene really necessary?

6036034 Yes. For the precise reason you named. He squandered his gifts, so everything that was given was taken from him. Perhaps I'll add a line or two about straight F's or more about his dropping out. If he was paying for everything and the kid decided to be a playboy, no, he gets thrown out.

He's not sympathetic. Vast gifts come with vast responsibilities.

Suppose you gave someone tens of thousands of dollars to grow up, get out of the slums, get a good education, etc. and they blew it all on girls, drugs and booze? You'd be so far beyond pissed there'd be no reasoning with you. No words are foul enough for what a waste that would've been. He's not Lex Luthor, he's an angry benefactor who's withdrawing his help.

Not a fan of Supernatural?

6036263 I've been binge-watching it with my gf lately. Just finished season 5.

reminds me of 'the Phantom" Ghost who walks. AKA Kit Walker

Ohh... you have my attention as well, I'll be tracking this. A very nice premise in itself but the explanation of BB's cutie mark sealed it.

6036034
It might also be worth noting that this is not the same Wayfinder we saw at the start. Yes, he's still there to elevate those who need it, but he's not the same. He doesn't have the same attitude, the same influences, the same beliefs aside from the core one that defines the Wayfinder. The approach taken in each case is going to differ.

Rest easy in the knowledge that, were you the Wayfinder, you would not be so harsh.

Aegis is writing again, das ist gut.

OK this one looks interesting and we are promised some sort of possible interaction between Twilight and Blueblood which is something that not alot of Fics do so I will be tracking this one.

I am so confused? So was Night Light was Wayfinder at one point? Interesting read. Good luck with the next chapter.

“What must a benefactor always have?”

“Grace, humility, and an eye for detail,” he responded.

That Pegasus Wayfinder was, in other words, a failure. Because he had none of these.

6037445
Agreed. And, well, see above. That particular Wayfinder might not have deserved the title.

Well, this is certainly something new (at least for me). Or if I did read something like it, it was so long I can't remember.

But this intro is certainly intriguing - I shall patiently wait for more!

My heart is burning now from how warm you made it.

Oh man... this is truly beautiful. I thought 'Octavia!' when I read the chapter title and wasn't disappointed.
Great characterization of Blueblood and Octavia. Great stuff.

“You can out of nowhere and helped me find my way.

came?

I love this about your stories. They're like reading a book meant for little kids, in the way that it makes you feel like a little child, full of wonder and awe...

Loving this so far. Can't wait for more.

Alas, that's life for you; 10% what you know, and 140% who you know.

Now this is a nice little story, looking forward to more.

This was a wonderful chapter. Just, wow. That end. The feels. I really can't wait for more

obviously only the 2nd chap, so obviously you could prove me wrong, but i feel like the pace is WAY to quick to start, and there is no explanation of the origin or reason for "the wayfinder's" actions

6047219 We're getting to it. This first couple of chapters is just laying down the concepts and main ideas. Let Twilight step in to explain a few things.

Oh, I'm loving this concept so much - this is novel and very, very cool. Can't wait to see where you take this!

since when is prince blue blood generous??? :rainbowhuh:

6048761 Just think about it. In public a jerk and masked a knight. Who would think he would live a doublelife?

6048996 idk. I didn't read the story but you know the general idea of what I mean right?

6049030 Yes yes. But even i think that blueblood or anyone alse (we had only one episode in the show) can't be a total a**hole in everything.

6049091 yeah I guess. he's in the episode the grand galloping gala where rarity tries to get with him until she sees how much of a "ruffian" he is lol

As we so often see, law itself is never sufficient; it must be tempered with reason and compassion, and then it becomes justice.

Great chapter. I think you did well. Good luck with the next chapter. I'm liking Blueblood as Wayfinder.

Awww, that was yet another nice chapter. Looks like this story will have quite a few heartfelt moments. Yay!

6049354
Hear! Hear!

6049544
I do, too. I'm even getting a little suspicious. How in the world did this fellow manage to be so rude towards Rarity? The only reason I can think of is to throw anypony off.

6051628
Maybe he has a paralyzingly fear of social interaction unless he's wearing his mask and handles it poorly?

I'm pretty sure Celestia knows exactly who is under that mask, especially when it is her nephew, but I can see her playing along, Wayfinder can be quite useful to her as someone who solves problems that slip between the cracks in the system, as we see in this chapter.

6051863
Possible. He seemed quite capable of playing along with his fellow nobility in chapter 2, though. And he did give Rarity that almost comical eyebrow waggle.

Unless... that was just her imagination. He didn't have the rose in his mouth when she reached him, for example. Perhaps he panicked once she introduced herself and he noticed she was an Element of Harmony.

Addendum: Anyone else surprised at how powerful Blueblood must be? He can teleport. We know only two other Unicorns who showed they can.

I fucking hate nosy people.

Ohhh.... on to the main plot! :pinkiegasp:

Hilarious. Keep it up.

Oh Twilight, you really can't let a mystery go even if it means respecting one's privacy, huh?
I guess this is a bit early in her friendship thingamajig else she might have realized that, heh.

Still, lovely chapter. Good to know that Blue's identity wasn't blown... even though it was a pretty close one.

Too bad this doesn't have a romance tag. He's touched the lives of three lovely ladies already.

Wayfinder is going to be shocked once the one mare who can recognize his face shows up at the gala. Then again, I can only remember them being in the same room at the very end, and thanks to Rarity he was somewhat covered in cake by the time Fluttershy makes her less-than-triumphful entrance.

Twilight's being curious is a danger I think. Maybe it's tI me to lay low for a while.

Damn it Twilight, you're already annoying me after just a few paragraphs.
When Twi goes into 'I'm uncovering a dangerous secret / fighting a villain' mode all manners and politeness go out the window without her stopping to think for even just a second. Very in character. *sigh*

If she's successful she'll be the proud pony who ruined untold numbers of ponies the chance to get anywhere in the world because their might-be benefactor has ceased to exist. Somebody should report the incident to Celestia so that she can give Twilight a light slap on the fetlocks.
