In this universe, Discord never pretends to be Grogar, so Twilight is rushed into the position of ruling Equestria. Tired of always heeding to the public’s demands, she snaps and turns to Midnight Sparkle, only fully trusting Starlight. When Starlight offers herself in the place of the Royal Sisters, she must adjust to her new life and a new Twilight. Though maybe with some goodness and love, Starlight and Twilight just might be okay(Parody of Beauty and The Beast)

Celestia has been woken by nightmares of her sister's banishment for a great many years now. She's used to comforting herself back to sleep on these nights. But maybe that's not what she needs.

Starlight gets concerned when she notices Twilight’s out so late. Sure she was with her friends before but never this late. When Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy show up with a drunk Twilight, Starlight gets introduced to a whole new side of Twilight, and learns something new about her.

What can make a girl's legs look adorable better than a pair of striped socks? Twilight spent long nights deducing formulas and studying the history of women's hosiery, trying in vain to find a competent rival for such a wonderful piece of clothing. But as she proceeded with her studies, she came to a terminal conclusion that striped socks were cuter than any of their counterparts by far.

In theory.

But scientific method, besides theory, consisted of practice. Now the issue was finding an appropriate lab rat. A great and powerful lab rat, preferably.

Besides, Twilight was sure the said great and powerful lab rat would look cute in striped socks.
