Lost, starving, and hunted by the law, a lonely changeling finds a traveling entertainer who he plans on using to restore his energy by extracting as much love out of her as possible.

Too bad his target turns out to be Trixie.

After a brief violent encounter and some mutual blackmail, the two of them decide to perform together in front of the town to raise enough bits and love for them each to go their separate ways.

It works out better than they expected.

Ever since the Fall Formal that changed the lives of every student at Canterlot High, Trixie's magic shows have become nothing more than yesterday's news compared to the Rainbooms. After all, they have REAL magic, and combined with all that they've done for the school, The Great and Powerful Trixie seems less and less impressive every day. In a last ditch effort to regain her reputation, she challenges former Crystal Prep student Twilight Sparkle to a shred off. Surely beating CP's greatest claim to fame will put her back in the spotlight. There's just one problem.

Two Trixies. One tires of her shows being nothing more than smoke and mirrors and wishes for real magic. The other just wants to be appreciated and accepted.

Each Trixie has what the other desires, so when they get the chance to trade places with each other, they of course take the chance. Will they truly be happy with their new lives, or will their exchange take a sudden bitter turn?

A new school, a new chance. Trixie's going to be popular this time. And what better way than to be Princess of the Spring Fling? But, Trixie isn't the only new girl. Care to know what happened to the girl who first challenged Sunset's rule?

Oh, and Maud's hanging around by some rocks...somewhere.

Trixie just so happened to find a note from a secret admirer one day at school. And she is more than eager to find whoever it could be.

Rainbow Dash is a mare of many talents, among them incredible passive observation skills. Once she no longer worried about getting her chance to ride the most amazing roller coaster that ever was like any proper Wonderbolt, she could take the time to process everything her brain noticed while she was busy.

That's when the family resemblance hit her.
