Story is a sequel to A Path Long Forbidden (must read first).

Ever since Flash had his incident, he has been regretting his decision, and is now has the pressure of possibly losing his job he worked so hard for and losing a close spot to his beloved Princess Twilight Sparkle.

Flash is now suffering from depression, and with nopony wanting to talk to him anymore, Flash questions his sanity, and, in what direction will his life go as he struggles to pull himself out of his depression. Just how long will it take for Flash to finally crack, or with somepony help him before that day comes?

Celestia writes one final letter to her student, Twilight Sparkle, with one very important message. Celestia is dying, and Twilight will be the one to take her place.

Set in the 'Youngverse'

King Terra and Queen Aeterna hire a new nanny for their daughters Luna and Celestia after the lastest nanny angrily humbly quits her position after a series of pranks by the two siblings. (Once again being instigated by Celestia).

When they meet her, Luna instantly takes a liking to her. However, Celestia isn't so keen on the idea... and tries to deter the new nanny away from her post.

... with backfiring results.

Nightmare Moon's ghost haunts Luna's mind, threatening to once again return and wreak havoc in Equestria. It is the year of 1975. Melody, a young human girl, always wanted to better understand the night sky and the secrets it held. Studying in order to become an astrologist, she travels the globe to observe the different constellations and views of the people who live under them. On the night of a meteor shower in Cairo, Egypt, she wishes upon a shooting star, asking to be led to a place of great night skies no human has ever seen. However, as the saying goes; "Be careful what you wish for."
Melody awakens the next morning to find herself as an alicorn filly with no memory of who she is or once was in Canterlot nearly 40 years before the time of Twilight and her friends. She is discovered by Princess Celestia and taken under her wings. Will Melody ever regain her memories, or is she doomed to be forever in the dark?
