Dashie's Dates

Getting to know you

Carrying Soarin gently but awkwardly, Rainbow Dash flew slowly towards her house. Looking down she saw the blue pegasus in her arms. His eyes were soft and stared deep into hers. Dashie blushed.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" she asked, trying to remain calm. "Is there something on my face?"
"No, your eyes just seem to be soft and kind.. You're friendlier than most ponies." he answered back, laughing lightly. Suddenly he flinched.
"Ow!" he groaned. Dash's eyes widened.
"Sorry." she said wincing, realizing her hoof had been digging into the side of his broken bone.
"I'm good." Soarin wheezed through gritted teeth. "Just not used to being handle like this.." he said looking down at his legs which were all twisted up between Dash's head and leg, almost doing the splits. Rainbow chuckled nervously as she realized how strange this was.
They stopped on her porch. "Alright we're here..." Rainbow Dash muttered, dropping him lightly onto the fluffy floor.
"Woah..." Soarin gasped looking up and down at the rainbows pouring from the clouds. "Nice place dash. Fit for a wonderbolt."
Dashie's nervousness evaporated. "Really?!" she asked, her wings fluttering at the compliment. "
"Yeah." he replied. "Nicer then mine actually, or fleetfoot's. Spitfire might have you at a tie though. And it's DEFINITELY better than the Wonderbolt headquarters... We never keep that place clean."
Dash swelled with pride. "My home is your home, it's an honor to have you here."
Soarin laughed. "An honor to have ME?" he grinned. "More like an honor to see you! You're the element of loyalty, have done 3 sonic rainbooms, fought off Nightmare moon, Chrysalis, Discord, and Sombra, and you have permission to talk to royalty at anytime. I should be the one looking up to YOU, not you to me."
Rainbow Dash rubbed her leg with a hoof, looking down and blushing. "Well yeah, i GUESS that you could say I'm pretty awesome..." she muttered. "But still, the Wonderbolts have been my idols since I was a filly. I always wished I could make the team. Meeting someone like you is TOTALLY AWESOME!" she smiled happily and trotted into the house. "Come inside, have a look!" she exclaimed, beaming.
Soarin walked in with her to be greeted by a flying tortoise and an average sized living room.
Confused he muttered, "Huh, I thought it would be bigger."
Dash laughed and replied, "The rooms are small, but there are hundreds of them."
"Oh. Cool." Soarin said back lazily distracted by the thought of a million different rooms for every single thing possible.
Everything in Rainbow's house was cozy and neat. He had been expecting it to be quite chaotic. There was a cloud couch, a computer, a TV, and some shelves with a few books and pictures of her friends and Scootaloo. In the corner of the room was a small statue of a pegasus holding a pot that had liquid rainbows flowing out of it into the basin the statue was standing in. Engraved into the basin were the words, 'Friendship is Magic'. Soarin stared at it for a moment, then trotted over to the shelves and looked at the pictures for a while. He turned to Dash and asked "Who's this filly?" while pointing to a picture of Scootaloo.
"Oh, her?" Rainbow Dash replied. "That's Scootaloo. She's an orphan kinda, but I act like her big sis, so it doesn't matter, we're still family. I love her a lot, and it's funny to watch her fangirl over me sometimes. She even created the 'Rainbow Dash Fanclub'" Dashie laughed. "She has a room way upstairs, she wont bother you. Everything she needs is on the top floor."
"Oh wow, nice of you to take her under your wing like that Rainbow Dash" said Soarin, a bit taken aback by the tremendous act of kindness. "You're sure you're not the Element of Generosity?"
Dash laughed. "Well make yourself comfortable. I'm gonna go catch some Z's." and with that she flew upstairs to her room and shut the door.
"Oh, well um, alright." said Soarin, watching her disappear. He moved on to explore the next room. It was a big wooden room with tons of musical equipment neatly tucked into shelves built into the surrounding walls, a bit like a ballroom. A golden chandelier hung from the ceiling, and a lonely grand piano stood in the middle of the room.
"Woah..." muttered the blue pegasus, taking in the whole scene. Looking around he noticed a small, almost hidden door between two shelves containing a cello and a few xylophones. Soarin hesitantly walked over to it, wondering if he was snooping. A golden plaque on the door said 'Rainbow Dash's Private Collection'.
"Private collection of what?..." he wondered.
