Applejack had long since taken the Hearth’s Warming Eve story for fact. When she and Fluttershy find themselves in an untamed wilderness, they’ll learn that not all history is preserved. In their struggle to find their way home, the two will unearth secrets unknown to any living being, pony or otherwise.

Half a world away, the others have problems of their own. As Rainbow Dash struggles to discover exactly what she is to her oldest friend, Twilight must face the stunning truth about her long-time mentor.

In the end, what is lost, and what is found?

After the events of the Royal Wedding, Rainbow Dash seeks the company of Fluttershy on the train ride home. Whether to seek proper closure, or just to be near her, isn't quite clear. As they gaze out the window to the rolling landscape of the night, the two Pegasi best friends have a time for their introspection of aspects of the recent past. An introspection into dealing with certain feelings they may have.

Rainbow Dash has come to a recent revelation, and has finally accepted it. Fluttershy is yet to be sure and if she accepts it. Yet, undeniably, something lingers.

When Fluttershy confides her love for Rainbow Dash, all does not go smoothly when her friends try to help, and it seems Fluttershy isn't the only pony keeping a secret.

When Rainbow Dash asks Fluttershy to be her plus one for an upcoming party, Fluttershy seeks help from Discord. It works a little too well and ends up leading to Rainbow and Fluttershy to finally get together. This makes Discord decide to declare himself the new cupid by using the same technique on others!

Except that things don't always turn out the way you might expect them to.
