Her legs were crossed and her hands placed firmly in her lap, not wanting to accidentally nudge or bump into any of the students that sat around her. Her eyes quickly moved to the right as she intently watched the Wondercolts' captain, Rainbow Dash, speeding by with the ball in her possession. With a flash of black and white, the ball went flying through the air and straight into the goal of the opposing team, the Griffons, barely giving their goalie a chance to react. Fluttershy clapped her hands together and quietly cheered, the crowd roaring over her small squeals. Rainbow Dash looked confidently into the crowd and waved but when she caught eyes with Fluttershy, her confidence faded into a nervous, almost frightened look. Fluttershy smiled and gave her friend a thumbs up before she turned away, putting her head back into the game. This was the first goal that the Wondercolts had made the entire game which was now almost over, while the Griffons had already scored twice. Fluttershy wasn't very interested in anything relating to sports but knew that winning this game meant more than anything to Rainbow Dash because the Griffons' captain was her rival, Lightning Dust, a former student of Canterlot High. "If they can just score one more point they'll have a tie and the game will be extended," she thought to herself, nervously rubbing her hands together and watching as the ball was kicked back and forth across the field, never getting too close to either of the goals. Finally, Rainbow received the ball from one of her teammates and rushed towards the Griffon's goal with less than a minute of the game remaining but was quickly blocked. She smiled, knowing just what to do and nodded at one of her teammates before kicking the ball to her which was then passed to another teammate standing closer to the goal. She was quickly surrounded by the opposing team and kicked the ball high into the air. Rainbow Dash rushed forward and the ball landed directly at her feet and she made her way towards the goal once again. The Griffons tried to stop her but she was too fast. She could feel it, she knew she could make the tie. She raised her leg high into the air for a kick but fell backwards, slipping on a rather wet part of the field. The ball slowly rolled forward and came to a stop as the Griffons rushed out onto the field, celebrating their victory. "Oh no," Fluttershy whispered, quickly looking away and frowning. "I have to go talk to her." She stood up with a look of determination on her face and rather unsuccessfully attempted to push her way through the uproar of the crowd to reach her friend. She let out a sigh of relief as her foot reached the grassy field and there were no more students in front of her. She turned to the right and headed to where Rainbow now sat on a bench looking sulkily at the ground, her team surrounding her and attempting to give comfort. "Hey Fluttershy," said one of the teammates as she approached and motioned for the others to step away to give the two some privacy. "I screwed up, Fluttershy..." she said looking up as her kind friend sat down next to her and placed an arm over her shoulders. "I let them all down," she continued, a combination of disgust and disappointment filling her voice. "It wasn't your fault that the field was wet," Fluttershy said comfortingly and smiled innocently at her friend. "No, I shoulda been paying more attention...I guess I was just sure I was gonna make it. I got full of myself alright!" she quietly yelled, her fiery pink eyes fading as they filled with tears. "Oh Rainbow," Fluttershy mumbled, wrapping her arms tightly around the defeated captain. Dash hugged back for a moment but soon pushed away and with a sniffle said, "Let's just not talk about this right now okay? I wanna get out of here." "Yes, that would be nice," Fluttershy said. "Let's go do something to cheer you up." "I wanna do something...relaxing, nothing crazy. I just want to escape I guess," Rainbow said, wiping away any evidence that was left of her tears. "We could go to the park?" Fluttershy suggested. "I always go there to get away. It's quiet, peaceful, relaxing, and there are always cute little critters to watch." "Alright..." Rainbow Dash agreed to Fluttershy's surprise, "and let's get out of her before Lightning Dust comes to shove it in my face." Before standing up, she looked down at the grungy, mud coated jersey and shorts on her body. "I should probably change out of these first huh? Come on." She motioned for Fluttershy to follow and headed to the girls locker room in the high school. "I-I'll wait out here," Fluttershy mumbled, stopping in front of the locker room door. "Oh come on Fluttershy! We've known each other for years and besides, it's a locker room. Girls get undressed in front of each other all the time in there," Dash asserted, motioning for Fluttershy to enter. "Okay..." Fluttershy said, beginning to blush as she cautiously walked into the locker room. "So, I was..." Rainbow began to say but stopped as she noticed Fluttershy nervously glancing back and forth at her. "Ugh, Fluttershy! It's alright, you don't need to be acting all freaked out," she scolded as she slipped her jersey over her head. Fluttershy's blush quickly returned as she attempted not to stare at Dash taking her shorts off. Even though she tried her best, Fluttershy couldn't resist looking up and down Rainbow Dash's perfectly toned body. "I-uh need to... take a quick shower to get some of this dirt off," Dash stumbled to let out as she realized that her friend was staring. "Oh...s-sorry," Fluttershy whispered and quickly glanced away, blushing brightly. She nervously crossed her legs, let her hair fall in front of her face, and put her hands behind her back, grasping them tightly together. "It's alright. Just try not to stare. You're making me nervous now," Rainbow said, pulling down the straps of her sports bra and pushing it up over her head. She then sat down to slide off her panties before standing back up. Fluttershy slowly turned her head and saw her cyan body glowing in the warm sunlight pouring in from the small window behind her. "Oh my," she mumbled quietly. "Stop bein so weird!" Dash chuckled and rolled her eyes, blushing slightly. She turned and headed for the showers, giving Fluttershy a glimpse of her backside. *** "Anyways, I was thinking that before we head to the park, we should stop at that ice cream place. You know the one we used to always go to back when we were kids? It's right next to the park," Rainbow said as the two walked down a quiet sidewalk in the shade of the oak trees which hung over it. "Ice cream huh?" Fluttershy giggled. "That'll be fun. I'm buying." "You don't have to do that," Rainbow said, smiling. "Oh, but I want to," Fluttershy responded, staring cutely at her friend. Rainbow Dash sighed, "Alright, you win." "This is going to be so nice," Fluttershy said, attempting to pass the time. "Yeah, I haven't done anything remotely relaxing all year. I've just been so busy with all of these sports. This'll be good," her friend responded. "I can't even remember the last time we actually did something together. I kinda miss it." "Me too--" Fluttershy began but was interrupted by a 'Whoa!' from Rainbow Dash. "We're already almost there? It seemed like it took forever back when we were kids...hm," she mumbled to herself before grabbing onto Fluttershy's hand. "Come on, let’s go!" Rainbow pulled her friend along with her as she raced across the street and down to the entrance of the ice cream shop. "Just like old times," she sighed with satisfaction, opening the door and allowing Fluttershy to enter. "Hey, I remember you two," said an older man standing behind the shining white counter. "You used to come in here all the time." The two nodded their heads and smiled, thinking about the past. "Well, it's good to see ya again. A rainbow sherbet right?" he asked as Dash approached the counter. "Yeah! How do you still remember that?" she asked. He pointed at her hair and smiled. "You like it because it matches your hair. The same for you correct, young lady?" he asked turning to Fluttershy as he scooped out the sherbet and placed it atop a waffle cone. "Mhm..." she mumbled. "Oh yeah, you're the shy one," he said comfortingly. Fluttershy nodded her head. "Well that'll be two bits." "Thank you," Fluttershy whimpered quietly, handing him the bits and placing another in his tip jar. "You know--" he said as the two turned to leave. "--it's really nice to see that you're both still friends, not many friendships last throughout your school years but it looks like yours has and I really hope it lasts long after that. "Yeah, we've had a few problems but we've pretty much always stuck together. Thanks again," Rainbow said as she pushed the door open with her back and waved before walking outside. She smiled, watching Fluttershy lick gently at her ice cream as they walked to the park. "Let's sit here," Fluttershy said, trudging through the grass towards an old worn out wooden bench which was located by a small stream running through the park. "You haven't even touched your sherbet yet," she said with a small laugh as Dash sat down beside her, the melting ice cream dripping down onto her hand. "Whoops!" she responded with a chuckle and began to blush, realizing that she had been staring at Fluttershy the whole time since they had left the ice cream shop. She licked the colorful melted sherbet from her hand and quickly ate the rest of it, attempting to catch up with Fluttershy who was already eating her cone. ` Fluttershy smiled as Rainbow ate the last of her cone and said, "See, I told you this would be nice." "Yeah, it is nice. It's really gotten my mind off what happened earlier," Dash sighed with delight and closed her eyes, listening to the peaceful trickle of the stream as a few spots of sun which pierced through the trees warmed her face. "Awww," Fluttershy murmured, causing Rainbow to open her eyes and tilt her head forward. "I told you there would be cute little animals here," Fluttershy said, pointing to a small chipmunk at her feet that was nibbling on a berry. "Cute," Rainbow Dash stated as she watched Fluttershy observe the creature, a large smile on her face. "Bye, bye little guy," Fluttershy said as the chipmunk scampered into the brush in search of more berries. She turned her head and was greeted by her friends blushing face. "Fluttershy...I-um, I'm gonna be kinda cheesy for a sec but just bear with me," she stuttered. "I-I just wanted to say thank you for hanging out today. It uh...really got my mind off the game and...made the day pretty good." "Oh, you are so welcome, Rainbow Dash. I'm always here to help...even if I can't really do much," Fluttershy chimed in and smiled brightly. "I'm uh...not done yet," Rainbow responded, scratching her head. Fluttershy nodded silently, waiting for her to continue. "You're right, you've always been there for me when I needed help or was feeling down or anything like that and have always just well, made me happy....you're a really awesome friend, Fluttershy. You've been by my side since we were kids and I seriously don't know what I'd do without you." Fluttershy smiled and blushed. "Thank you so much. You know, you've always been there for me too, defending me from bullies when I was little, doing all the brave stuff for me that I couldn't, and most importantly just always being a great friend," she continued, fiddling with her friends wristband. "Uh, what are you doing?" Fluttershy heard and looked up to respond but stopped as her eyes caught Rainbow Dash's. "I-I was...fixing..." she whimpered. Dash with her cheeks glowing a light pink, wrapped her hand tightly around Fluttershy's and leaned forward, kissing her lightly on the lips. Fluttershy who's cheeks glowed an even darker hue of pink, nervously kissed back. She smiled, her stomach tingling with a combination of nervous energy and pleasure, Rainbow's soft lips feeling amazing against her own. Grinning, Dash wrapped her arms around her friend and pushed their foreheads together. "I...I love you," she struggled to let out. "I love you too," Fluttershy whispered. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Rainbow leaned back and placed her hand upon Fluttershy's cheek, staring deeply into her eyes. "I've always loved you but I guess I didn't realize it was like this until today. "I've been wanting to tell you for so long...but I was so scared that you'd say no," Fluttershy mumbled, leaning her head against Dash's hand. "Why would I say no to you?" Rainbow asked lovingly. "I wasn't even sure if you were interested in other girls and besides, you're athletic and brave and strong...and I'm none of those things. I thought you wanted to be with someone more like you," she responded, placing her hand over top of Rainbow's. "None of that stuff matters to me. What matters is that you are sweet, caring, loving and just an all-around amazing girl who's always been a part of my life," Rainbow Dash said before pulling Fluttershy closer for another kiss. As their bodies pressed against one another, Rainbow felt the quick and steady beating of Fluttershy's heart and smiled. "Awesomest day ever..." she whispered, pushing her fingers through Fluttershy's soft hair. "I agree," Fluttershy whispered back, rubbing her cheek against Rainbow's. "Thank you so much...for everything." "No, thank you," Rainbow said with a smile, rubbing her hand up and down Fluttershy's arm. Fluttershy leaned forward, her cheeks still glowing red and passionately kissed her new found lover. She quietly whimpered as she felt Dash's tongue enter her mouth but quickly embraced it, closing her eyes in pleasure. "That was amazing," Fluttershy moaned as Rainbow pulled away. "Yeah, I know, I am pretty awesome after all," Dash said, using her arm to wipe off her mouth before smiling. That entire evening, the two held each other in their arms, kissing one another and staring deeply into the others eyes, rarely speaking any words except the occasional ‘I love you.’ Not wanting the amazing moment to end, they sat together on the park bench until the glowing orange sun fell behind the trees and the world around them grew dark save the warm glow of the lamp posts lighting the streets around them. "What are you thinking about?" Fluttershy asked, Rainbow Dash's arm wrapped tightly around her as they quietly watched the ever changing reflection of the moon bouncing off of the stream. "I was thinking you really enjoyed going into the locker room with me today huh?" she grinned, her teeth glowing in the moonlight. "Oh yes, very much so," Fluttershy giggled, blushing once more…
