Cloud Kicker's slowly been figuring out how to use the new magical powers she acquired from her girlfriend Rainbow Dash. Even if it was a bit of a shock at first, it's magic! Who wouldn't be excited to have it? It certainly makes life at CHS more interesting.

However, just because she has magic powers doesn't mean she can control them, and when Cloud's magic goes haywire it quickly becomes apparent that she needs more help than what Sunset can offer on her own. Finding a solution means taking a trip to the magical land of Equestria, but Cloud might not like what she finds when she goes through the looking glass.

Dawn Lightwing has overcome many trials in his life; persecution for his unique eyes, living amongst the monsters of the Everfree Forest. But now all of that is behind him. Unfortunately, Dawn's past is not so far behind him as he would like, as his experiences have left scars on his mind and heart that threaten everything he has gained since coming to Ponyville.

Despite all the ugly complications and drama of high school, things have gone pretty well for Cloud Kicker. Sure, there was that one crazy incident where Sunset Shimmer turned into a demon. And the one with the Sirens; then Twilight turned into a demon too, and the freaky bug monsters in the sewers—and then everything that happened at Camp Everfree. The most normal thing in Cloud's life is her relationship with Rainbow Dash, and Rainbow now has magical superpowers.

That's not to say everything in Cloud's life is perfect. She's never really seen eye-to-eye with her mother, but that's hardly unusual for a teenager. At least, until a misunderstanding blows up in the worst way possible. When Cloud uncovers a shocking consequence of her relationship with Rainbow, it might be just what she needs to patch things up with her mother ... or it could tear their relationship apart completely.

Her parents and friends simply fail to grasp the gravity of this unfolding crisis, or the terrible consequences of failure. Who can imagine what horrors might be unleashed if Kukri can't find the perfect present before time runs out?!

Rainbow Dash was the Iron Wing. She was a war hero, the Slayer of Shadows, the Liberator of the Crystal Empire, the Wrath of Celestia. And depending on who you ask, she still is.

But the war is over. There's little need for a pony like her in peacetime. So she keeps telling herself that she needs to adjust, that she needs to find a new role to fill in the world that she saved. But Equestria seems content to let her remain what she has become, even though they have no need of a warrior.

"This isn't how it's supposed to be", is something she keeps telling herself. But every time she says it, the only thing she can reply is, "so what should it be?"

One whole year after the close of the war, and Rainbow Dash still doesn't have the answer.

Realizing that he is alone, without anyone else to care for him, Fluttershy realizes that she must try to bring this lonely foal out of the forest and give him a life of love and friendship. The problem is that this colt's...unique qualities have made him more than a few enemies, including some who are closer to home than Fluttershy realizes.

Both Dawn and Scootaloo will go through experiences that challenge their desires for the future and their relationship with each other as they navigate along the final stretch of the convoluted path to adulthood.

In the wake of Terra Heart's attack on Ponyville, Princess Celestia leads the Royal Guard against the Cult Solar in an effort to eliminate them once and for all. And behind it all, the mysterious Morning Star continues with his plans, which could spell the end of the world.
