After the strange disappearance of everypony in Ponyville and half the population of Canterlot, the citizens of Equestria live in fear and uncertainty. A year passes and while Celestia tries to once again shoulder the responsibilities of the crown without her sister Luna by her side, the investigations into what happened and why have born little fruit. Rainbow Dash, the weather pony of the now ruined Ponyville, may be the key to discovering at last what happened to Luna, her friends, and her town. And perhaps what exactly it is the Candy Mare wants.

Zephyr Breeze just can't seem to catch a break. After doing his best to get his degree in Mane Therapy, and continuing to keep his parents company in their golden years, he's run up against the challenge of actually finding a way to put his degree to good use and find.... a J-O-B.

When his big sister Fluttershy finds out what a difficult time he's having, she tells him about a wonderful work opportunity that perfectly fits his skill set. Short hours, lots of pay, and he has to do almost nothing himself. All he has to do is show up for the job interview and make a good impression on his would be boss. And if Zephyr is good at anything, it's making a good impression.

It sounds too good to be true. Unfortunately for Zephyr, it probably is.

In the middle of the night, a dark presence sweeps across all of Equestria, claiming the minds of most of the population. By the following morning, only a select few retain their free will. Among the Ponyville survivors are Spike the dragon, and a scared, blind, little filly named Tulip Iris.

After Lord Tirek was conquered, Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich join forces to create the Cheesy Pie Corporation and started creating theme parks around Equestria. At one point Pinkie Pie had the idea of sharing the fun with the Zebra nation and a park was made in the Zebra country, only to be abandoned later.

Now Neon Lights has decided to investigate the ruined park, to learn the reason behind the parks closure.

However, the stallion will soon learn that some things are best left... Abandoned.

This story is a sequel to The Rainbow's Surprise

On the day of Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash's wedding, Princess Celestia left Twilight a message saying that she should prepare herself if something happens. The next morning, Twilight awakens to find that all of Ponyville has succumb to a blinding fog.
