However, there's something off with the bookish girl.

When trying to focus on her studies, Sunset Shimmer is stuck watching an annoying little filly who just won't let her study.

When Twilight Sparkle (the scientist one, not the otherdimensional pony princess) predicts an oncoming magical calamity, it's up to Sunset Shimmer and her friends to stop it!

Now, they've got just two days to cover hundreds and hundreds of miles to get to exactly where the dimensional incursion is going to take place.

Good thing it's Spring Break. Road Trip!

She swore she'd left the life. She'd hung up her sunglasses and her rapier wit, trading it for a modest life of attempted world domination followed by a little redemptive pennance. But it was not to be.

With Equestria fallen to a second changeling invasion, and every one of their greatest heroes felled and imprisoned, it will fall to her to raise the mic and attitude once more.

The burn-meista is back.

On her way home one evening, Sunset Shimmer is jumped. Beaten and broken, she must now try and reintegrate back to her normal life, all while living under the constant fear her attackers will return to finish the job. As her mental condition worsens, it soon becomes apparent this is one problem that a blast of rainbow magic won’t solve...

Sunset Shimmer visited Equestria over her summer break, spent time with Twilight and her friends, and had realized that ponies were missing something vital.
Hobbies.
She'd known that Equestrians did have hobbies, but she was hard-pressed to find a pony whose favorite thing to do was not in their job description.
So she had taken it upon herself to teach each of the Mane Six something that Sunset herself liked to do.

After her little magic trick at the Fall Formal, Sunset Shimmer is not having the best night, and it's about to get worse: Principal Celestia just found out that Sunset has been living in the school clock tower. Now she has nowhere to live, and who's going to take in a teenager with personal issues that include recent demonic possession? No one normal, obviously.

But... maybe someone with a mohawk, a house full of creepy masks, and blue eyes that seem to see more than words -- or rhymes-- can say.

Sunset Shimmer weathered the storm. She returned from the darkest depths, and now she has good friends. People like her.
