    Sorry guys

I apologize for the lack of updates. Although I am writing a bit, I've found myself in a bit of a semi-writer's block. I'll get out of it, but it is delaying the stories.

    Author update!

I'm editing stuff! But also incredibly dried out of writing power atm. I'll get going again soon, but just bear with me for a bit. I'm publishing a chapter of XCOM today, then start on the daily writing (not publishing) again tomorrow morning. In the meantime, always remember:

    Remembering Koji Wada

Like every year, I like to remember the man/legend responsible for the theme songs of one of my favorite shows of all time on the anniversary of his death.

So if you were wondering about the timing for the latest Isekai chapters? There you go.

    Welp, here's a life update

These last couple of weeks have been a bit of a rollercoaster. Good things have happened, and also bad ones. No wonder I could relate to both Furina and Navia in the latest Isekai chapter. Sometimes pretending things are fine is really exhausting, even if they do get better.

To the Bronycon Crowd! · 1:02am Aug 12th, 2015

So Bronycon is over and it's back to the usual work days... but there are some words to be said.

First of all, I want to give a huge thank you and shout-out to my fellow panelists:

For the Advanced Writing Panel: the very evil indeed Bad Horse, and the lovely Bookplayer! Guys, this panel was amazing thanks to your insight, contributions and sheer personality. Wouldn't have wanted it to be any other way and the only regret I have about it is that we didn't have more time to discuss our craft. You both had excellent points to make on each topic and I feel I definitely learned a few things as well! Thank you again, and I hope we can be panelists again together in the future. Bookplayer, I loved your panel on Romance. Maybe next year, if you do it again I'll ask some questions, since I don't write it that often! Bad Horse, you need a panel dedicated to Evil. Make it happen.

For the Crossovers Panel: ABagofVicodin, Cap'n Chryssalid, Aquaman, Cyborg Samurai and GaPJaxie. It was awesome! The timing sucked, let's face it, but we had a really solid panel, and had we had a decent time-slot, we would have kicked even more ass. As it is, even if we were competing with Ponies the Anthology vol V at the same time, at 10:30 PM, we had a pretty nice showing and the topics discussed were very interesting.

Sizing Fanfiction to the Idea: (aka Short, Long and Epic) ABagofVicodin, Cyborg Samurai, GaryOak, and the relatively unknown Pen Stroke. Again, the time-slot could have been a LOT better and the competition was tough! But we managed to draw a crowd and keep them not only interested in the topic, but also engaged and eager to learn more! We did a great job guys and I wouldn't hesitate to join any of you in a writing discussion of any sort.

Additional shout-outs go to the following individuals for being generally awesome people:

Masked Ferret! Always cool to hang out! I'll give you some Mexican candy next time, I promise!

Applejinx: My man. You are a legend. I enjoyed your panel and had we mustered a way to get together to talk I would have loved to discuss several points of it where I either disagreed or agreed. But I guess that's part of what made it great: it got you thinking if you paid attention! Additionally, I salute you for your efforts at Quills and Sofas! It was the most organized I have ever seen it!

Midnight Dancer: Middy, there's never a dull moment with you, it's always a pleasure and I was so happy that you got to experience the convention this time around instead of being trapped in the sales floor!

Arad: Dude, I was so hyped to meet you in person! It was great to finally put a face to all those hours of writing and chatting! You're awesome, man! And also kudos for finishing Mente Materia chapters among all the chaos of the con! That's some dedication!

Sunchaser: Stepping up and organizing stuff like you did takes some skill dude, and the panels were great! Thanks for everything and contact me for future endeavors!

Burraku Pansa : You are an incredibly generous, massively bearded, immensely awesome guy! Never change!

Corejo: You are taller than I had imagined! Thanks for letting me stay at your place and also indulging my need for Mexican High Cousine and watching drunk people pass out on the table. Let's hang out soon! Sacre Bleu!

Pav Fiera! You were there, man! I saw you! This time though, we barely chatted.

Professor Plum: That british accent. So sexy. Also, sorry I kept taking pictures of you while you were sleeping. It's not creepy at all... seriously though, it was great to see you man, it's too bad distance and cash keep so many friends apart!

ROBCakeran you have to be one of the most jovial individuals I have ever met! We will definitely hang out and drink a few hundred rounds next year. So long as we can keep Aquaman away from the alcohol.

Razgriz you own the Cowboy Bebop look. Now all I need to do is teach you martial arts, get you in a funky-colored suit and give you a spaceship with a crew of misfits so you can make a ton of money hunting down villains.

Parasprite - Girl, it was awesome to meet you. Next time hang out more and we'll trade fimfic stories for a while.

Elusive Badgerpony Moderating fimfic and working behind the scenes can indeed be a pain as now you know.

Flashgen it was very nice to meet you for the first time ever, you're a pretty cool dude, if you're around next year let's make sure to hang out, maybe play CaH or something!

Captain Unstoppable: We need to sit down more often and talk about writing experiences and IRL brony stories!

Archonix: You sir, have excellent taste in Scotch. One day we need to figure out if there's a bar down in Baltimore that has a good selection of Single Malts and have an appreciation night.

Dusty Man, you'v been one of the best friends I've ever made. It's always, always a pleasure to see you and hang out! Keep being awesome and creating those amazing sculptures!

Jake the Army Guy how is it that you're consistently awesome? Dude, thank you for all the effort you put into things and helping out when you can on the panels (adding your insight also is pretty cool!) I look forward to seeing you next time!

RedSquirrel All that scampering. The bushy tail. The signed Celestia plushie. Wish we had hung out more man, but it was really great to meet you!

Eldorado and Alexstrazsa guys we didn't have much time to talk this time around, and I just met El in person, but we should totally have a Fimfic Mod panel next year.

FaughtDragon we keep having brief meetings. We need to catch up more, talk craft and you need to draw more and write more and everything more. More.

Csquared you won't escape next time.

Fangwarden/Cloudhammer and Noble Cause: Dudes, I'm sorry I skipped you! as I told you, I'm glad you both were able to make it, even if Noble could only stay for a little bit and I saw him all of 10 minutes. I was hoping for a Dunkin Donuts repeat this time around; less crowded, more talking and catching up being possible that way.

And damn, I originally forgot to mention I met (to quote Vic) COLD IN MOTHER FUCKING GARDEZ. So much awesome in one person. He's a regular Kakashi if you guys can imagine such a comparison. Totally chill. And yet you know he can rip your heart out with words or fist.

Oh man, and so many others! I don't want to forget them! I know I saw the Abyss walking around there somewhere, and Silver Quill and so many others! I'm sorry if I'm not listing you here, but it was an amazing thing to be part of once more, and I'm glad I had the chance to spend it with so many excellent people.

I'm down for a Fimfic panel.

And yes, Archonix is a gentleman and a scholar.

I will try to be more sober next time and not drinking right out of the bottle... but no promises...

Also, sorry I kept taking pictures of you while you were sleeping.

Only one of them was while I was asleep, remember? :raritywink:

3313035 Seconded. I'd love to go back again. This was definitely the highlight of my year.

Pav Fiera! You were there, man! I saw you! This time though, we barely chatted.

Ugh I knowwww. If I had a nickel for all the people I wanted to hang out with more, but barely said all of two sentences to... Next year, I'll run my fingers through your beard, promise. And hey, I accidentally gave you the idea for that Sparity fic, so...

Professor Plum: That british accent. So sexy. Also, sorry I kept taking pictures of you while you were sleeping. It's not creepy at all...

I need these for reasons.

Razgriz you own the Cowboy Bebop look.

HOLY SHIT it's true! :pinkiegasp:

3313134 No, I didn't. You're actually there, in plain sight. You just have to pay attention.

~WD the Mod.

3313043 There's no way of knowing you were awake inside that mask!

3313035 Dangit, now I have a reputation to live up to...

3313035 I'd be more than happy to join! I know a thing or two haha.

Csquared you won't escape next time.

I'm too fast for you :duck:

Done. Thanks.

Couldn't make it this year but I'm setting aside funds for next year. Hope I get to see ya.

It was an honor to be around so many awesome fic writers. Sad we didn't get to hang out as much, but hanging out at Dempsey's was at least a lot of fun. Hopefully I make next year BC, and I'd love to get some drinks.

Next year, Wandy! We got time, brother, no fear!

So long as we can keep Aquaman away from the alcohol.

I genuinely look forward to seeing you and whatever army you can muster try.

It was great hanging out with all of you guys. It felt like three days of colour in a year of grey.

I now have a desire to write things.

ps - I can attest to Bad Horse's nefariousness. He switched nametags with Admiral Biscuit, and had me confused as hell.

"Oh hey.. You look just like Bad Horse"
:facehoof:

Your #1 attention whorse,

- Shally

It was nice meeting you as well D.

Now time for me to kick into gear and get WRITING. Thanks for the pep talk man. :)

Was very thankful for the hotel room I could share with you and the others, and I can't wait til next year. Maybe I'll have published something new by then.

3313416 Glad I could help! Keep me posted on how that goes!

Man I still feel bad that I missed your panels >.> well I can try again next year!

OMG I just realized that I was in Baltimore with my family for my dad's meeting AT YHE EXACT SAME TIME when the briny in was happening!

How the hell do you people find the time, energy, motivation and money to go to a convention? Presumably it's easier for you guys in the States, but still.

I wish I wasn't lazy, I'd piece together your super secret message that you left in the post... Don't think I don't see those random hints... Screw it.

I move. For no man.
Bonus points if you get the reference from just that.

I swear, I'm still working on that year-long plan so I can make it next year...

ROBcakeran, Razgriz, Flashgen, COLD IN MOTHER FUCKING GARDEZ!

I seriously need to be there next year. I need to meet these folks.

time, energy, motivation and money

The first three out of the four listed are correct.

Thanks again for signing Past Sins for me!

3313586

The fourth is what we all grievously lack afterwards if the con has been especially good!

I wish I had had a chance to talk with you a bit D, but it was nice putting a face to the name.

All this praise is causing my brain to BSOD. I had such a great time with you and the writing group army this year. I mean wow. Just wow.

3313586

I'm mostly thinking the cost of travel to get to the con, seeing as for me it'd be all the way across the ocean.

I can say with 100% assurance that the feeling is entirely reciprocated, if not more so. You never cease to put a smile on my face when we meet no matter the state I'm in, no matter how brief. You keep being you dude; it always works out.

I would have loved to discuss several points of it where I either disagreed or agreed. But I guess that's part of what made it great: it got you thinking if you paid attention!

I would love to do that. Hey, I know you can organize things: tell you what, organize one of those writer Google Hangouts that go up on YouTube, and email/FIMficmessage/tweet me about it! We can make it a talk-about-writing jam :raritystarry: I even still have my papers from that panel so if you need to refer to something I can quickly look it up and then we can talk about that point. Nothing I'd enjoy more than a good roundtable on that stuff.

We ALSO didn't end up getting together with Bookplayer to talk about what's appropriate/good for fic Patreons, and as you know I have a lot of personal interest in having that conversation. Let's do a thing. I can check Skype if prompted on FIMfic or twitter or email, which I check more often. :raritystarry:

*high five*

It was good to finally see who you were, even if I didn't get to meet you personally. Now every time I read your blog posts, I read it in your voice lol
Hope to see you next year~

3313333 You know those little remote cars they had at the con with the ponies on top? I'm going to replace the ponies with a bottle of vodka and watch you try to catch it.
