Some site posts are not essential and so I've decided to create a new subcategory for site posts: "Social site posts". These are more community related posts and we'll be using them a lot more I think. Consequently, I've made it so you can block these posts from appearing in your feed. There's a checkbox for it on the feed page.
You can expect these kinds of posts to be used for more fun stuff like episode discussion posts and such.

I don't mind the site social posts, but this is a good change. It costs me nothing to ignore it, and lets the folks whose jimmies are rustled start using the site in a way they appreciate more.
Also: may I suggest that next time you include a picture of Alicorn Fluttershy so that we can derail the comments section with an argument about best princess.
1766887 I call a bunch of people of people going "OH MAH GURD!" over something a circle jerk. Otherwise, i dont like big review groups, especially when they take up space on my feed. If I want to hear about someone's opinnion, I'd rather use a smaller and newer group. I feel a little bit of inexperience brings a degree of freshness and honesty.
Other than that, I'm happy that there will be less spam on unnecessary things that are not site updates.

Well, up until now, only two "review groups" have ever gotten front page posting. One, the RCL, has only five members. The second, SA, has only twelve. I'm not sure what you mean by "big" since it certainly can't be referring to size. If you mean popular, I'm really not sure I understand your point. Are you saying anything (or anyone, in the case of Chris and RBDash47) that gets a lot of recognition is by default not worth listening to? If so, you're making absolutely zero sense.
I've yet to see anything of this sort happen on a site blog to date.
One of the features I've felt the site has been missing ever since I first joined, is a general forums page of some sort for discussing non story or blog specific things in a public space. I'm hoping that the plan is to give us something to fill that niche - reading opinions on personal blogs is good and all, but discussions tend to be kinda limited.
As to letting people hide it; yeah, I can see why you're doing this, but I still can't see how anyone can get really rustled over a dozen or so unwanted feed updates a month. If it took me a single, solid two minutes to glance through the entire last six month's worth of site updates (not counting time to read one's I actually wanted to read), I'd be very surprised.
I'm seriously the only one who thought this?

1767051 Someone telling him about a thing he doesn't care about is an infringement on his God given freedoms of ignoring everything he doesn't like, and misusing phrases is a cultural tradition in most English speaking countries. Besides, 20 posts in the last five weeks is kinda unreasonable, you have to admit; taking time to point out how he doesn't like wasting time is a hassle that no one should be put through.
