Alright, a very good story so far, I like the gradual build, and the way that you haven't had either one expressly interested in mares is a nice change. The internal conflicts are a wonderful addition. I enjoy being able to see what each pony is feeling and thinking, and you've done an excellent job conveying that clearly, without it being overbearing.
I eagerly await the next chapter. I wouldn't mind it being a little longer, though.

haha, i gave up trying not to sound like an English teacher a long time ago whenever i talk about a story
yeah i liked your idea and incorporated it (even if it was milder than you suggested) ... even if i don't always reply i read all the comments and take any criticism or suggestions and input whenever it seems to fit ... i have a general idea of where i want the story to lead but the specifics on how the characters get there are mostly up in the air so i'll cater where i can ... as for developing relationships with each other or anypony else, nopony in the show has shown any interest in romance other than Rarity ... being that i subscribe to DigiBrony's theory that the Mane 6 are roughly 15-16 years old it's safe to say they haven't really considered anything other than a standard colt-filly relationship as a possibility for them ... seeing that development is something i'd like to explore with this

That's something i've debated about with myself a few times ... I know the tendency (with most stories i've read here at least) is around 3,000+ words per chapter for most authors and i do want to post longer chapters ... the thing is that i also want to start building a fan base, meager though it will likely be by comparison to something like "University Days" ... and the only way i can think to do that is to update more frequently ... and to do that without sacrificing quality is to make them shorter ... so there will probably continue to be fairly short chapters, but i'm going to make every chapter as meaningful as i can and they'll also be updated more frequently than your average story (with a self-imposed 1000 word minimum to boot)
... Dash needs to learn to use specifics when speaking to Twilight from now on.
