If we're thinking of the same story, I think I might just drop that one. It really didn't give a lot to the story.

It might actually take things away. Given that certain point from that certain chapter that is important to the story, showing ponies fighting in the war would be counterproductive. If you're still considering that "Tales of Ba Sing Sae" chapter, showing ponies being against the war (possibly with a recruiter character) would actually be productive.

Quite. Playing up Luna's eagerness to go to war would also be a good way to draw a contrast between her and the rest of Equestria's population. Might want to touch on how people in other nations are reacting to Mandalorian recruiters as well.

I am thoroughly enjoying these side stories. The whole Casus and Sweetie thing made me smile, and, honestly, I'm glad the Ugnaught won here. It takes the story on an altogether more interesting--nearly cliche-free--route that really fleshes out Casus's character. Shmexy.
I await the next installment with bated breath.

I have to admit that I really like writing these little adventures, I especially like how things are evolving with Casus and the girls. It's very tempting to turn this into something just about them. Might have to make a whole other side story to cover them and their adventures.

Funny you should ask. I had an idea for yet another short that kind of escalated into its own story. Aside from that, I can't stop coming up with ideas for the actual sequel. I honestly both love and hate how what started out as a story I wrote on a dare has turned into a full blown hobby of mine.

Okay, I get the feeling that you guys want me to do a Mackers story.
i would personally like to see a lot more from these characters...particularly as both Hammer and Anvil seem to be 'blank flanks', their eventual cutie marks would be interesting if nothing else, and theres a distinct flavour of good plot hooks from this start...though i get the impression that at lest a few of them were in fact borrowed from the SPARTAN II program of the Halo-verse. Hammers attitude is much like that of John when he was first 'recruited', an attitude that he kept for most of his life, long enough to become known as the Last SPARTAN...the Master Chief....

Yeah, I'll admit, I had a bit too much fun with that chapter.
Nice chapter. It's interesting to see that Spitfire decided to transfer to the Neo-Protectors instead of staying with the Wonderbolts. Did Soarin' transfer, as well? Perhaps Spitfire and Dash (and Soarin' if he went) could use their Mando combat training to train the Royal Guard and a new version of the Wonderbolts that are more combat-oriented than ceremonial.

2456512 if i had to make a guess...i would say that the three surviving Wonderbolts were Spitfire, Sorin, and a mare names Fleetfoot. Sorin due to the fact that his skill is second only to Spitfire which is y he was her second in command on the Wonderbolts. Fleetfoot is a smaller bodied mare, making her less of a target, and she lives up to her name being one of the fastest team members.
2451431 actually, i wouldnt call the Wonderbolts a ceremonial unit, as they r trained in aerial combat, much the way the Blue Angels squad of the US Air Force is a fully trained combat unit that also puts on quite a few air shows for publicitys sake. this also fits in with an old military tactic, old, but still good and still used today. its called Shock and Awe; basically, wow ur foes so much that they want nothing to do with the battle. now the Royal Guard, yes, they likely r a largely ceremonial force, but they r also the primary military force of Equestria, they just arnt used to advanced tech weaponry, nor r they trained to fight it.
