One evening, Sunset reads from the Wonderful Wizard of Oz and things go wrong. She and her closest friends get sucked into the book and have to go through it in order to get back.

P.S., this takes place later in the Nine Elements Timeline, so, beware of spoilers.

All characters belong to their respective owners.

So gar I'm enjoying this. And so you mentioned that it is going g to follow the book. Are you going to combine elements form both the book and film version?

P.S., this takes place later in the Nine Elements Timeline, so, beware of spoilers.

How far into the timeline are we talking here?

Yeah, but, mostly, I'll follow the book.

11730834
Sounds fair, and I'm assuming you wont put the lyrics to the songs on here?

Another question, is this non-canon to the Nine Elements story? Will you do more more lf these? Or will this just be the only one?

So past events, and characters that already appear currently from S1-S2 (whenever full on or cameo), characters after that plus all the EQG movies happen also including S3 and onward stuff that we haven’t seen yet.

Ok, got it. Thanks for letting me know that

Hey there. Thanks very much for getting this up. REALLY appreciate the effort going into the exchanges, characterizations, references and future chapter set-up. REALLY appreciated Sunset and Pinkie's channeling certain characters as well as the empathy some of the group felt for Dorothy when Sunset was telling them about the start of the story. And, yeah, the acknowledgement that Dorothy's situation was, in many ways, a complete inversion of what Sunset was at the time she was in (one of) the human worlds. And that was a very understandable bit of culture clash when Rainbow and Sunset were explaining - orientation - to Dorothy and her family.

I'm guessing, judging by the age Spike mentioned, this is probably mid-season-9. The acknowledgement of the Power Ponies adventure (even though Trixie and Starlight weren't there for it) was another great touch.

VERY much looking forward to more of this.

I love how you doing this story. Of wizard of Oz. And I like how it's different from the book. And how is different from The cinematic adventures universe of wizard of Oz. And can you please keep on doing Spike the 2 book. And I love you work keep up the good work. And keep on making good stories. And I love love your work. And keep on making new books and new stories. And thank you so much for the stories. You're a good writer.

I was actually following the book closely. Take it easy with the asking for more.

STORM: Maybe they have normal reactions in the books, I don't know, but why aren't Dorothy & family freaking out like any normal human being over talking horses (and a dragon whelp)?

11731191
BRANDON: Dorothy is quick to accept the idea of magic, her being so young and all. Uncle Henry was dulled over the years. Aunt Em was surprised at first, but, she got used to it.

11731191
Good question. Probably because the author didn't want to waste time on the gang dealing with panicking humans. And it is better that they keep calm and rational enough to treat the gang like any other visitors so long as they don't show malicious intentions.

Besides, Dorothy, to my knowledge, wouldn't be freaking out later on about a sapient scarecrow, a cyborg lumberjack (or at least, a late-19th century/early-20th century version of a cyborg), a talking lion, assorted magical beings and who knows what else. She had to pick it up somewhere.

11731213
I could see one of the other members of the gang asking Sunset what they could expect in Oz, with Sunset commenting that "To minimize spoilers, a few fantastical creatures (both good and bad), two good witches, two bad witches and some other things that can get bad, though we've faced and beaten worse - especially a couple of months ago."

11731227
And Sunset makes it a point to not let anyone in the book know that they’re part of a book. Her reasons will be explained in the next chapter.

Nice alterations. I remember the footwear was different in the book. And good Sunset keeping everyone hushed about the fact they're in a book

It's some twist. Have Sunset get ruby ones, and Dorothy get the silver ones from the book.

Excellent work in the latest chapter. Certainly liked the work going into the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up. And, yeah, that IS a really good reason for Sunset to stop the others from mentioning this was a book. And that is also a good job on describing the lore concerning witches (and, yes, even today, there ARE just as many good ones as bad ones in fiction). Also liked Trixie correcting the natives concerning Equestria being civilized and having multiple extremely powerful magic users. And that bit of ginger ale for settling Applejack's stomach about the little white lies (even though the gang knows by now that, in most cases, a carefully worded truth works a lot better than a well-meant lie, this is NOT one of those times)

Of course, I would think a sufficiently powerful and well-trained unicorn would qualify as a witch/wizard or sorcerer/sorceress (i.e. large scale levitation, teleportation, transmutation, elemental control and too many other spells to list). Though I can see why Twilight wouldn't see herself, Sunset and Starlight that way.

But anyway, definitely looking forward to more of this.

Yeah. Sunset’s more of an alchemist, who makes magic through science.

Amazing stuff! And like what others said Definitely a good call Sunset stopping Twilight and the others from mentioning that they’re all in a book.

Doing something like that would be chaotic and be really bad

I love how you following the book and not the movie. And how it is different from the Cinematic universal adventures of wizard of Oz. And keep up the good work I love your stories. And can you please finish Spike the book 2 please and thank you when you get the time to finish it. And keep up the good work. And I love how you are making sunset summer a good character. And I love how the good witch's name is different from the movie. And the bad witch's name is different too. And I love love you stories.

11731659
In the book, Glinda’s the Good Witch of the South.

STORM: I love that the Wicked Witches are named Evanora & Zelena! I love Oz the Great and Powerful and Once Upon a Time! Only four witches, eh Locasta? *cough*Mombi!*cough*

Pretty good to help tide us over during the hiatus of season 2.

Definitely got the vibe Sunset would be the most inclined for wearing clothing (aside from Rarity of course) given she did spend a while in the human world where wearing clothes was the norm.

Certainly gonna be interesting for our 9 ponies + dragon as they accompany Dorothy on her journey. Definitely get the vibe Fluttershy and Cowardly Lion would get along really well.

Judging from the mention of the events of Rainbow Roadtrip by Pinkie and Spike being 19 1/2 years old now (he was 10 in season 1), this is definitely during the timeframe of season 9 with the indication being it happens nearly a decade after the start of the show. Curious if this means the CMC will also start to get noticeable growth spurts in later seasons since they'd be 16-17 by season 9 in this version (which is the same age that Twilight was in season 1)?

Pretty solid reasoning on why the Guardians of Harmony can't be bringing up the fact Dorothy's a book character without disrupting her journey.

Spike referring to Sunset as "Auntie" sure does give some pretty wholesome vibes for how their relationship will end up going in this version.

Out of curiosity, who would hypothetically voice Dorothy, Aunt Em, Uncle Henry, and Locasta here?

11731845
Andrea Libman, Tabitha St. Germain, Paul Dobson, and Nicole Oliver, respectively.

11732034
Also seeing how Spike is said to be the same height as Dorothy, how is his height at this point when he stands next to Smolder and Ember?

11732036
Pretty good choices.

Since for this one we know who the other relevant characters are for future chapters, who would you imagine as hypothetical voices for Cowardly Lion, Tin Man, Scarecrow, the Wizard/Oz, Glinda, and Wicked Witch of the West?

11732263
Sam Vincent, Scott McNeil, Ian James Corlett, Mark Oliver, haven’t decided for Glinda yet, and Kathleen Barr.

I like how the scarecrow character better than the movie. And how you keeping it difficult in the cinematic universe adventures of The wizard of Oz. And keep up the good work. And I love how the Main 6 are in the story pretty good so far. And I love you stories. And I can't wait for a new chapter come out when you got time to make it. You can take your time on it. I am not rushing you. You don't have to hurry from me you can take your time and keep on making new stories and please keep on making new stories. I love anything you write. You are a very good writer. And I love how sunset summer is in this one. And I love how she is a alicorn in this one. And thank you for the stories.
