Ik but my smol brain isn't capable enough to solve the mystery myself so...Twilight COULD scan the letters for residual magic, to at least confirm or discard the possibility that the writer is a unicorn.

Very curious. I figure it's fairly rare to find just such a cozy and interesting story that touches main themes of the show, and looks like it could really take place in it's continuity. So, to reconnect once again with these characters and gain some insight in their lifes — it's always a pleasure

I KNEW IT! The only (friendly) pony who'd ever detest saying the name Starlight Glimmer... Is Starlight Glimmer herself.
I had suspicions from the beginning, Starlight writing letters to herself is very in-character and I've seen it in a couple other fics. But that line was the giveaway.
It's unusual to see Fluttershy referred to as Fluttershy Breeze. I know of only one other story that did so.
I did suspect Starlight but i wasn't entirely sure it was her.
