aww, yeah. given we see Starlight with just the one dad, her other parent dying when she was young and this leaving a lasting impact on her makes all too much sense
literal children and prodigious magical talent seem to bring about megalomania pretty often amongst the ponies

Fascinating bit of prose poetry looking at Starlight’s stunted emotional growth in poor soil and the wrong amount of light. I appreciate how the pattern only breaks when Twilight comes around and disrupts everything Starlight had built her life around. Thank you for this.
