Autumn Twilight

T

Butterscotch has just moved to Ponyville from Cloudsdale, comfortable to have his hooves on solid ground now instead of clouds, but uncomfortable around all the new sights and sounds, and utterly terrified of meeting the new ponies there.

As he soon finds that he has unexpected feelings for the farm-pony Big Macintosh, whom he just met, Butterscotch has to question himself: could he possibly have the courage to take it to even first base with him, let alone beyond?

Yes, yes he does. WAAAAY beyond first base. Or even second, or third.

Last minute submission for the September 2021 M/M Shipping Contest.

This is the teen version of this story. Mature version can be found here: <link when done>.

Obvious Flutter/ButterMac ship-fic is obvious. I've always found this couple's male/female couple adorable and finally decided to take my own spin on a Flutter/ButterMac romance now that I believe my writing skills could do it any amount of justice. Plus, this is an entry for a contest. This is also my first foray into male/male romance or sexual relations, so here's hoping I did it justice.

Also, this is only tagged 'Alternate Universe' because Mac never gets with Sugar Belle, like in the official show's universe.

~

Unrelated to the story tags, but there's a brief scene involved where a complete perv is trying to (unsuccessfully) solicit and exploit a vulnerable, clueless stallion for sex. If that disturbs you, well...yeah, it doesn't actually end in anything except comeuppance for him.

Contains: A secret crush situation, then a budding, then growing, romance between two stallions, including kissing, dating, and so on; mentions of mares in estrus, m/m fantasies, implied masturbation, making out, pheromones/scents, implied sex, aftersex cuddling. May also contain other things I forgot, but nothing explicitly sexual. That's in the other version.

congratulations on being the final entry into the contest!

well one does wonder just how Rainbow Dash, who hardly seems like a hard worker or coming from money, managed to buy such a mansion of a Cloudominium. cloud homes just being cheaper to construct does explain it. and it is nice to see Rainbow as protective of Butterscotch as she was of Fluttershy in the canon

well, that certainly is quite an introduction to Big Mac, for both the reader and Butterscotch! maybe we will both get answers to the puzzlement at the end there. and it was fun to see how his introduction to Pinkie Pie would have gone. really sounds about right!

aww! Pinkie really did mean well, and i'm glad it worked out for Butterscotch in the end. Buttermac is definitely a fun dynamic.

fun to see Angel Bunny weighing in on this! him just eavesdropping on Butterscotch's daydreams is really fitting to his character.

surprising that Big Mac knows to call it "Prançais", given his sister's attitude to it! (between the French here and the griffon real estate agent's name in the first chapter, i'm guessing you are somewhat of a Francophile yourself? or even Francophone?) and it was fun to see the canon details come up in Butterscotch and Big Mac connecting. the material from the Ponytones episode is definitely good stuff to use, though that episode would not go as it had in canon with an R63 version of Fluttershy.

and a very sweet and happy ending. thank you for writing!

I thought it was logical, and yeah, I do like the 'protective big sister vibe' she gave off in canon. Wouldn't think it would change even if her friend were a stallion!

11078771

Yes indeedy you will, and did, judging by your future comments! And, I mean, it only makes sense Pinkie would introduce herself so energetically to others as she did to Twilight, even the really shy ones!

She did mean well, though her methods were much akin to cracking open an egg with a sledgehammer. Bit too forceful, especially with two fairly fragile personalities like Macintosh's and Butterscotch's. Good thing Big Mac has the compassion and desire to get to know Butterscotch better, or that could have ended...badly.

I thought so too. He only wants the best for his companion, after all.

...between the French here and the griffon real estate agent's name in the first chapter, i'm guessing you are somewhat of a Francophile yourself? or even Francophone?

I know some basic french (1 college-level course), but do like the language quite a bit.

...it was fun to see the canon details come up in Butterscotch and Big Mac connecting. the material from the Ponytones episode is definitely good stuff to use, though that episode would not go as it had in canon with an R63 version of Fluttershy.

Unless Butterscotch has as light of a tone of voice as Fluttershy's, or is capable of reliably reaching it, perhaps.

Thanks for all the comments! Means a lot on my first posted story!

Im not surprised at all. Im in the middle of BFE, which means that I'm surrounded with nothing but the most redneck of society. An area so redneck thats its almost a spoof and Im always surprised by what people know that you wouldn't expect.

For example a stereo typical redneck electrician saying, "Nah, my favorite wuz this poem that goes...." And then reciting a poem in perfect French..., then telling you exactly what it means.

Never, book, cover, has never failed to surprise me.
