Devastating little tale, all the more so knowing what became of Silverstream in happier times. Very good work with the visceral fight scenes. Best of luck in the judging.

I enjoyed this! I really liked the little touches of background and whatnot sprinkled in throughout. I think that was a good way to suggest a lot of history across without needing too much of an exposition dump.

However, the opening feels a little off to me. With how much focus the story put on the location and its history, I expected that to have some kind of payoff later, especially since the island's namesakes are creatures we've seen in canon. But as far as I can tell there wasn't any payoff to that detail, so I'd question how much of it was necessary.
