Impossible Numbers

"Gather ye rosebuds while ye may, Old Time is still a-flying, And this same flower that smiles today, Tomorrow will be dying."

Lemon Zest is a radiating ball of pure energy, just with a human attached. Sunny Flare is more like one of those icy outer planets far away from the sun, you know, Pluto. But they keep in orbit, nevertheless. After all, gravity doesn't always suck.

DuKanal... I see what you did there

It's always fun to read a story that's entirely dialogue. And this one was no exception.

Thanks! It was definitely an interesting change of pace for me to try something like this. :scootangel:

Aaaaaaaaaaahhh I love this. What the hell. It's like one machine gun of great Shadowbolts interaction. I like it when they are a bit of a jerk to each other, but still pals, instead of the usual happy-go-Rainbooms.

Also, I like how Sunny is seemingly closer with Sugarcoat and Sour Sweet. Reminded me of that sleepover storybook. Sunny Flare as a goth fashionista is also a welcomed change.

You know, given how the town's still called Canterlot, I think you can get away with Manehattan.

I happen to know for a fact that Sour Sweet’s been making voodoo dolls of you on the school grounds and setting them on fire.

"Oh, come on. It's Sour Sweet. Who hasn't she burned in effigy?"

Angelarri von Flüterbaat

This. I like this. I'm going to have to remember it.

And I expect they all live in a magical land full of happy little fairy things, do they?

"Yes. Haven't you been keeping in touch with Twilight?"

I always love seeing these two interact. Not the biggest fan of the dialogue-only style, but you still went in some fascinating directions with their characterization and history. Great work. Thank you for it.

That's what fascinated me about the concept behind the Shadowbolts; they're reflections of the Main Six/Seven, but much more antagonistic. They're just begging for more attention.

Good catch! That storybook's the source for the idea of them three being close friends. And her being a vampire wannabe was just a bit of fun I tossed in; the eye shadow suggested to me she might have some goth in her soul.

Oh, all right, it's a fair cop. I'll change it to Manehattan. At the time, it just struck me as sounding weird, plus converting "Mane" to "Hair" produced something that sounded to me like the sort of name a pretentious district might have.

On the other hand, I am inordinately proud of that vampire name.

Dialogue-only stories are not everyone's cup of tea, to be fair, and I think I'll go back to more conventional narration next time. If there is a next time, because I'd very much like there to be. Here's hoping!

“YA HA HA YO-hee-hee-heeeeee, is that seriously so? No joshing or nothing? And I expect they all live in a magical land full of happy little fairy things, do they?”

Well, she might have made a lot of friends in the time Twilight opened all these portals and revealed a strange pony world :trixieshiftright:

Lemon seemed to be channeling Pinkie pretty hard here. At points she stopped feeling like her own dustinct character.

Still, not bad!
