This story is a sequel to Piece of Cake?

On their quest to spread friendship at the strict Crystal Prep Academy, Sour Sweet, Indigo Zap, Sunny Flare, Sugarcoat and Lemon Zest decide to throw a party on school property. After all, what better way is there for the students to losen up and get to know each other than at a nice, fun party?

Though for the party planners themselves, the night might turn out to not be quite as nice and fun as they had wished...

Cute, and glad to see you return. Stinks that this'll be the last one, but I can't deny that it's understandable the hardships of continuing sometimes, eh?

WHOO! NEW SHADOWBOLT STORY!!

Before I made this account I read all the Shadowbolts stories you made. And I really liked them all. And I'm really excited to see what's next for these guys.

Another excellent chapter, as usual.:D

And the problems begin.

Awesome chapter.

CSC

The irony about Sour's "philosophy" is SHE'S not the kind of girl she says guys are attracted to, well not 100% of the time, 50% of the time.

Sour and Indigo's challenge is gonna be a fun train wreck to watch.

CSC

Oh no, this cannot end well.

Another excellent chapter.^^

Pushing up her glasses, Sugarcoat rubbed the bridge of her nose. “You sound like you want to sell a horse…”

Well, without MLP, you wouldn't exist so...

I get the feeling Cadance is gonna have some form of break down.

Oh man its coming. I wonder who's gonna break first? Or will they break all at once? Can't wait to see.

Still loving this story so far

CSC

Oh my..........this is not going to end well..........for the Shadow 5, for everyone else its going to work out perfectly.

“Ten kilos, but I’m thinking about going up to twelve. What do you do for leg day?”

Damn...

Casting a dark glance after him Sour kicked the spoon into the air. “There are no gentlemen left in this world” she mumbled while grabbing the spoon in the air.

Sure, let's go with that.

“O-or a game of cards? Or chess? Ch-checkers?” He helplessly looked at her. “I… I am not sure what I should ask you out for…”

Wow...

Huh I just noticed: While things aren't turning the way Sour or Indigo wanted they are helping all the boys they are talking to make friends.

CSC

Oh my god! :rainbowlaugh:

Still, things haven't become a total disaster..........yet.

Well that didn't turn out the way I thought it would but that was a fantastic way to end it. I enjoyed this a whole lot.

It was a great Gala/Ball/Party/Shin-dig/Ho-down/whatever you want to call it. It was fun.

CSC

Wow....this didn't turn out as bad as I thought it would. Great work! Still, I'm kinda sad that this is the last one.

lol Cute ending. And loved the fourth wall break there. XD

The party setup scene from the first Equestria Girls movie was one of the most motivational and inspiring scenes of the whole franchise. It's an odd mix of cringey and funny to see the Shadowbolts completely fail at recreating it.

Aww, this was nice. Too bad it's all just a setup for just how bad everything is going to fall apart.

Hold on. Lemon is a fourth wall breaker? Despite the fact that she was hyped as a Pinkie's counterpart, this actually surprises me.

It's interesting that there's a history to this party. It's possible that Cinch wants to rebuild the school's sense of shared community after all the issues post-Friendship Games that show just how badly it's decayed.

Lemon? If you want Princess Twilight to do all your work for you, be prepared to spend the next few days crawling to the Rainbooms (and particularly Sunset Shimmer) to get their help to convince her to do so.

Lemon needs to learn how to utilise her friends' skills to the optimum. For example, I've got a feeling that Sugercoat is a natural organiser, being of a somewhat tabular mind. Lemon, on the other hand, is the creative one. I suspect that Sugarcoat's choices would look like she'd read a web-page on how to decorate party venues - ticking all the boxes but lacking somehow in humanity. I think it's Lemon's role to make things look like real feeling when into it.

As for Sour and Indigo? Well, I suppose asking the two scariest of the Shadow Five to get 'volunteers' looked good on paper but the problem is that I don't think either of them have the right human skills to do it! :pinkiehappy:

Sunny came precariously close to her toy role as 'alt-Rarity' here! She absolutely had to make all her friends look their best!

Meanwhile, I have a nasty feeling that Indigo and Sour are going to dare each other into a bad situation that neither of them is old enough to handle.

I suspect that Principal Cinch kept vampire hours and was rarely seen outside her lair. Cadence is, by contrast, we well-known figure and commonly seen around the school. That said, seeing a staff member doing something fun must be a bit of a Twilight Zone moment for the Shadow Five.

What makes this particular chapter epic (and what puts this story on my favourites list) is the way that you showcase all of the Shadowbolt Girls natures as Shadow Element Bearers - Sour Sweet's empty politeness, Sunny basically trying to 'help' without bothering to check if it's the right sort, Sugarcoat's brutal 'honesty' and the like. It really is an excellent demonstration of how they were originally meant to be and how I wish they could have been shown in the animated media.

There is an important lesson for Sunny Flare here: Being a busybody with others' love-life is a sure-fire way to ensure that you have none of your own!

Even if the girls didn't get their dream evening, at least they all got a closer, deeper and stronger understanding of each other and that in itself is very important for friendship. Although I doubt that they realise it, potentially the best night ever!

Indigo vs Sour is basically rainbow vs Fluttershy and I'm here for it 🤣
