Let's face it - having an affair involves quite a bit of dishonesty, even if only in the form of omission.
Not necessarily a major canon element, but something that I wanted to play with in this story (and that will come up more if the future installments I'm thinking of end up happening.)
This really deserves a continuation or expansion ala Grimm’s Sparklecest works. Really solid!

This finds that one-shot sweet spot of cutting to the chase, but without feeling rushed.
The chapter ends at the logical stopping point for a standalone, but leaves it open for continuation.
