Of course, I beat him—as usual—and licked my bowl clean before I sat up again and watched Sunburst eat. He was about half done, and eating so slowly I wondered if he'd finish it before breakfast. The solution was I needed to help him!

9398896 I like to be a little careful with submitting stories to groups. A lot of them can be really particular about what they get and what happens. I had a particularly bad reaction to a Shining x Twilight fic that was focused only on bondage and loss of agency with no actual sex. Long story short, there was some pretty hardcore QQing in the comments right from the start.

It kinda annoys me, that stuff. If people want a story to be different, they should write/commission one themselves. There is always room for more stories!

Depression over this wonderful journey being concluded aside, I really have no words for how well this was written. The emotions, the characters, the progression, all were brilliant. I really am sad to see it end so soon, but oddly enough, it still felt like a happy ending.

I think the foal would be fine, though perhaps not without its trials.

The foal will not be damaged (you don't become mentally damaged from being near someone who is, and screwy got it in an accident, so it's not genetic). So from Sunburst, her broader environment (e.g. neighborhood kids, school, some therapy if that is even needed, etc) and maybe even from Screwy herself he/she can learn to distinguish between what is doggy behavior and what is proper pony behavior.

I do, however, expect a cutie mark in dog training or dog whispering.

But yeah, these musings are kind of outside the intended scope of the story, I do see that.

I almost didn't read this story but finally decided to give it a try, and I am glad that I did. I like how you showed the gradual changes occurring with Screwy as she spent more time with Best-Stallion (formerly known as Sunburst). It's interesting that they had a past and that this actually ended up helping her remember details from a forgotten life. Yet, I also liked that you didn't do a sudden 180 where Screwy is back to normal but rather in a happy balance between her dog self and pony self. I understand that a sequel is unlikely but it's intriguing to consider what life will be like for Screwy and Sunburst with a foal(s) in the way. Enjoyed reading this!
