Warning you now, people are going to confuse Deputy Turner with the pony Time Turner.

I hadn't even though of that, little late to change it though.

Hmmm...seems very similar to the setting of the most recent Far Cry game...large county filled with wilderness? Check. Little town that is really the only major settlement? Check. Main character is a new Sheriffs Deputy? Check. Only thing missing is a militaristic doomsday cult with the heads all being family to each other. Go get 'em Rook.

Oddly enough that's not what I based it on, I got the original idea from that show Longmire, to the point I based a character off of the sheriff for which the show is named.

It's just similar that's all, hell most of the inspiration for FC5 probably came from Longmire as well (I don't know never seen the show or heard the devs of the game say they did). Story's good so far. Keep it up Rook.

Interesting...I’ll be honest I’m getting some Far Cry 5 vibes from the story like how Devil Dog described, but as you stated this is not inspired by that; I will still read this as this does seem well written. And brownie points for a mid ‘90s Ford F Series truck. Hopefully it’s got 4x4. It seems that Deputy Turner may need it.

You even used the term “far cry” at the beginning of the chapter. Nice play on words there lol. :rainbowlaugh:

But in all seriousness, this is getting good. Keeping an eye on this one.

looks around, before whispering I ship it...

“Yearling… I just go by Yearling.” She replied, taking a couple deep breaths.

Watch out, Turner. You might be featured in the next edition of Daring Do

Pretty interesting so far. I'll kepp an eye on this one for sure

Hell yeah, another story from The Boss. This is gonna be good.

“Look, there’s at least three that we know of, and he makes four. Wouldn’t it be good to let him know he isn’t alone?”

Oh shoot

Weird.... I seem to have something in my ear. I keep hearing the word Murphy.

The really weird part came when the mare’s buttmarks started glowing, and that somehow told them there work was done.

I was CERTAIN the friendship problem was Turner, guess not.

So it seems they all might know about the other humans...I wonder how long it’ll take for him to find out?

“I guess, seems like doin’ the same thing over and over again and expecting different stuff to happen is kinda nuts…” He said….

Another Far Cry reference dear writer.:rainbowlaugh:
Specifically in Far Cry 3 where Vaas monologues to Jason about his experience with finding out what insanity meant.
You say that your story is not based off Far Cry 5, but you sure love to unintentionally put those Far Cry references in there. :rainbowlaugh:

Will this story have any m/f sex scenes, implied or otherwise, where the woman does most or all of the work?

I mean... It's possible? Why?

Well that was easy. I figured it would end up being some giant conspiracy that led all the way back to Canterlot.

“Comics based on humans aren’t real comics.” Another stallion piped up. “Have you read that one about the zombies and the guy with an army that destroys Equestria in two days? Totally unbelievable.”

Nice!! That's one of my favorite series... (realizes it's the same author, and facepalms before laughing) Shit, that was dumb! XD

“Comics based on humans aren’t real comics.” Another stallion piped up. “Have you read that one about the zombies and the guy with an army that destroys Equestria in two days? Totally unbelievable.”

I have in fact heard of that one. It’s a real Paige Turner.

See what I did there? :trollestia:

So when is the part when we raise an army and take over Equestria?

Y'know, I'd watch this as an actual TV show. straight up.

I really want to know who conned Discord into doing that. Much of a dick as he can be, this really wasn't his style. However there's only so many people with the influence to make Discord do anything, and frankly any of them asking this off him seems even more strange. I really hope an explanation will be coming soon, as this mystery is very weird.

That aside, Bob the sasquatch seemed very fun. Shame he wasn't really there though.

My mom loved the show"Longmire" so she chuckled when I told her of the Long Wire reference.

obscenities that were far too graphic and disturbing to ever be repeated within the pages of this story

Private message them to me then :)

Milk, eggs and bread. Anytime there is even the slighest chance of snow in the South, that's what everyone goes to stock up on.

Now I want to go see "Mr. Smith Goes To Washington".

Arkansas has just over 3 million people. And our largest city (Little Rock) is dwarfed by dozens of other cities in the U.S.

Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, Festivus, Saturnalia, Yuletide, Winter Solstice and sure might as well add Hearth's Warming to the list.

And why not tell him about the others, what could they possibly be hiding?

See, they may be holdouts but they still act for their friends.

I'm really getting an ominous feeling about this story. While the chapters and arcs themselves have their own challenges and intrigues, the lack of funding and the background war is very troubling and very likely linked. Funding to such a rural area while a war is on would be a very low priority, if its even on the list at all.

And what is wrong with a well. A well is better because they can't tell when you can and can't use it or charge you.

A godly test perhaps, I like to believe reality is Discords plaything. Maybe God heard him and sent Discord to test him.

A good law man will always wrestle with his conscious, if he has to shoot someone.

If he was not a good law man it would not bother him. But. Because he is it going to.

Okay, can I ask what about it you didn't like so I can try and improve on things in the future?

So I was replaying FarCry 5 and happened to find out that one of the large lakes in the game is called Silver Lake...no town of Silver Lake but still...

9141191

I realized that after a couple playthroughs as well. I hadn't noticed until after I'd started writing.

Well good damn what the fuck happened lol. I just check this shit and there's all these updates.

Leave it to the Lion-Eagle hybrids to invent Blitzkrieg tactics.

If the next thing you are working on is the next arc of this, i want more already...

I was just catching up on a two chapters I had when all of a sudden...

BAM!!!
All those other ones show up.

Well, they are usually portrayed as the Germans of Equus.

Funny you should mention this song, it makes a several appearances in the next story.

I agree I have an ominous feeeling about the future of this story, I feel like there’s a dam about to break wide open.

I have a feeling that this Griffon conflict is going to end up affecting Silver Lake regardless.
