And don't worry, I have a VERY good reason for what I just did, and although it may seem a bit unusual, it still is fully plausible.

It actually has everything to do with the World Wars that I keep mentioning throughout the story. After Sombra's defeat in the Crystal Empire by the mane 6, he was destroyed, but not killed. His horn was shot off, and it flew for a long time, before finally, thanks to a pair of crossed lay-lines, it arrived here on good old Earth, where it landed in the dirt on another set of lay-lines. For a long time though, nothing happened. WW3 simply buried the horn deeper. However, WW4 was a war fought almost entirely with nuclear weapons, and other WOMD's. This brought the horn to light, and it was found by accident by a soldier, who gave it to the leader of the Black World Order. This is why they were able to go to the extreme evil lengths that they did. In the end, after their attempts to exterminate all of Humanity at the war's end failed, they were wiped from the face of the Earth.

The horn was eventually discovered by the Futas, who put it on display, not knowing just what kind of power that it held. Then, in 2026, the museum that housed it, located in St. Louis, fell into American hands. We then found the horn, and decided that it would make a good war-relic. We then decided to place the horn inside of the engine itself. This is why I mentioned the engine being almost alive. It has Sombra's horn inside of itself.

However, back to the matter at hand. Sombra's spirit positively THRIVED on Earth. He was the king of darkness and shadows, and that's all that existed on Earth during the 3 World Wars. His horn bounced around from one empire to the next, and then was taken by the Americans. His horn was always calling out to those who would listen, as he saw that he would need a willing host for his return, however, nobody would listen. Nobody that was, until, in a moment of weakness during the Battle of Vegas, he got to me. THAT'S why I launched that unauthorized nuclear attack! THAT is the source for my seemingly endless undying hatred. In fact, Sombra was the source for ALL of our's violent rage when Twilight, Applejack, Pinkie, and Dash were taken. Remember? I said that it "Seemingly spread like wildfire across the entire train." Ever wonder how that was possible?

Sombra became a part of Leopard, however, for some time after Vegas, thanks to Dash's love, he was able to keep Sombra down, and out of sight deep within. However, when she was taken, that evil awoke again. I mention THAT in a chapter as well. Sombra however backed off a bit when he saw that I was killing and conquering just fine without him, however, when he saw Danin, coupled with my rage and sadness that Dash was still a prisoner, he just couldn't resist coming back on top, as I was too weak to resist. This is also why I said in the description, "Will they pull through their struggles and succeed in their mission, or will they become just as bad, if not worse, than those they were attempting to destroy?" This scene's been a long-time in coming. I've hinted at it over time, and built up to it. Then last night, came the big reveal that Sombra was behind all of the darkness, and rage that we all housed within us. HE caused WW3-6. HE was responsible for my nuclear attack on Vegas, as well as the uncontrollable rage and darkness within all of us. As a closer, I'll leave with this quote from Luna in Chapter 14, Part 1. "I've seen into their dreams sister, all they dream about is darkness, and the wars that they have lived through! I've tried to dig way back through their sub-consciousnesses, and although I was able to find traces of who they were, the war has wrecked them almost beyond repair!" This was how Luna first began to realize that there really was something horribly wrong with us, but she wouldn't figure out what it was until after the fall of Zebrica.

I hope that this somewhat lengthy explanation suffices. If not, just tell me what parts were unsatisfactory, and I'll see about explaining them again.

And first of all, ouch. Something in "Battleship Express", being called "shite"? That's normally reserved for haters. I've never had a fan say this, but I suppose that it was bound to happen eventually

And I guess you're right in a sense. Some parts of this are better than others. "BE" was my proving ground that I could create a successful story, and while I succeeded, it wasn't perfect. I admit that. I was still learning how to write certain emotional scenes, and this one didn't quite stack up. I tried, as I'd just seen the episode where Dash's Parents were introduced for the first time a short while beforehand, and I tried to show them being emotional like they were in that episode, but it seems like it fell short of being good
