I start reading the description for this story, and immediately see this:
Uh...
The moment I finished reading the description, I honestly double checked for a comedy tag. I'm pretty sure this story needs one.
There should be a joke story tag.

Hello Dark Shade 75,
and what now? No, this story is NOT a joke. There is humor in it, but I wrote it to be serious. This story is not a joke, but instead a remedy to the heinous crime of their being too few stories for Fall of Equestria that have a good ending, and not a single good ending for a story from the Zebra Domination Universe.
I've read, re-read, and triple re-read the description, and I completely fail to see how anyone could interpret it to be a joke story. I don't see how war is funny. Maybe to you it is, but it isn't to me, or anypony else who takes this story as seriously as I do. If you're supposed to be some kind of troll, then I must ask you to take your trolling somewhere else. However, if you're not a troll, then could you please explain to my why this story should be considered a "Joke Story"? I'm extremely confused.
I don't think anyone can react to their own death, especially if they didn't die yet

It is quite the absurd story, and absurdity alone can be the joke.
To use the provided example:
In trench warfare, whoever is gaining ground is winning. As a result, a situation in which someone is gaining ground in a stalemate is rather absurd(as stalemate in trench warfare implies any ground gained is quickly lost afterwards).

Hello M127,
And first of all, whoops! My mistake, I meant "Tarrath", not Zakia! I fixed it though.
Next, I really didn't mean for this story to be absurd.
Also, in the trench warfare, what I meant by this was, the war in the trenches had come to almost a complete standstill. However, the enemy was starting to push through the lines, and wasn't getting driven back very easily. The line was holding, but it was seemingly getting weaker and weaker all the time. This is what I meant when I said, "The war in the trenches has stalemated, but the enemy is gaining ground. Just a slight misinterpretation, nothing more.

Every word of that has me laughing. I HAVE to assume your reply is a troll, or I might die.
HELL YA!!! Bring on the bat pony carnage!!! Hey scarfox, does this make leopard "Batman" now?? (i regret nothing!!!!) Also I'm gonna assume the dna transplant has fixed his being sterile.

Hello Dark Shade 75,
and no, I'm not a troll. Like I've said before, this story is not meant to be a joke. It was intended to be serious, with some humor along the way. I also don't think that you're a troll either. I just think that you and I are on two different levels of thinking. You can interpret this story as you want, but just know that from my perspective, as the author, I made this story to be serious.
Laugh all you want, I don't care.

Hello GameAssassin,
and, I don't know, maybe I am "Batman" now! Or Manbat, take your pick! And also, this scene was actually a while in the making. I meant to insert it into Part 1, but there wasn't room. So I decided to insert it in Part 2. And yes, The next couple of chapters involves Leopard adjusting to his new anatomy, as well as learning to use it to fight!
Also, did the procedure cure my sterility? I don't know. I guess that you'll just have to wait and see!
8651167
Oh well. And darn, hoped my comment woulda got a laugh outta you.
8651415
Hello GameAssassin,
and your comment did get a laugh out of me, I just didn't fully show it in the comments!

Nice.

Hello Trixiecat,
And yes, in case you haven’t guessed, Dr. Fritz is indeed based on the Medic from TF2. I haven’t fully described him, but he does have dark hair, wears glasses, and is German.
9383856
Eh, not quite. The real answer is much more anticlimactic. Leopard merely wrote this one based on the testimony of those who were there, including Major Don, Dr. Fritz, and his other comrades. He didn’t shoot or swear!
9383863
I know. I just like to be a killjoy/troll sometimes. Just to mess with my readers a little bit.
9383899
I don’t do it too much, but when I do, I pick the best moments!
9383921
when there obviously could be a dead human wolf hybrid nearby and theres also Auora that is mostly wolf
9505089
Hello Wolfie566,
And there often is a dead Human-Wolf hybrid close by. They tend to either be on the battlefield, or even stored in the train's morgue in the medical car. (Yes, there is a morgue on the Battleship Express! It's used to hold bodies until they can be returned to Equestria for proper burial/and or positive identification. There will be a cemetery for the Americans who fell, as you'll see in "Beyond the Express", but this is how the bodies got there. The morgue won't be mentioned specifically until a future sequel, but it is indeed there, and many agree that it's the creepiest place on the train! And yes, the Battleship Express IS haunted, but that's a WHOLE another story for another time!)
Yes, Aurora's mostly wolf, with a bit of German Shepherd mixed in too. And what I said before is correct. After Leopard blacked out, the rest of this chapter, and the first part of the next until he wakes up again is based on the testimony of others. And no, Leopard did survive this procedure, though this wouldn't be the first, (or last!) time that he would unknowingly put his survival in the hands of Dr. Fritz, a possibly homicidal, mentally Nazi Doctor from Germany with sketchy credentials, and a possibly fake or revoked medical licence!
Okay, this entire battle makes no sense. They were planning to nuke the place, so WHY did they feel the need to risk life and limb to destroy some buildings and kill some soldiers the old fashioned way that would be equally destroyed and dead by nuke alone? There's been several tactical blunders so far, but unless i overlooked an objective, this one takes the cake.

Hello Solana Vin Neighpal,
And I don't mention this until a little bit later, but Don answered this question. As of that moment, no nuclear weapon had ever been detonated on Equus, and no one knew what would happen if one was. I imply later that tests were being conducted to see what would happen, but because Tarrath was at Zandia at the time, there was no time to wait, so the battle commenced. Then, once the data was in, THEN they could nuke the city. Yeah, I knew that this was a bit of a glaring oversight, and have debated on changing it, but haven't. Most people have overlooked it, at least until you've said something
10481121
Yea, i got to that point in a later chapter, but still didn't make sense. Live bodies in the area wouldn't have affected a test like that. At least it wouldn't have affected the fallout problem they seemed concerned about. Now if they were concerned that radiation+magic+live bodies=zombies then yea... But with that same logic, already deceased subjects would carry the same risk, given the unknowns.
Anyway, moving on.
10481138
Also bear in mind, this was my 3rd story ever. I was still learning as I went along, and trying to figure out what worked and what didn't. And this was one bit that I'm still not so sure on.
And yeah, they were worried about the fallout. What they weren't sure on was how powerful their nuclear shells would be in Equestria. Back on Earth, the shells had been labelled as "5 megaton shells" (this is actually BS. It was told to the public as fact, but is in fact false. In reality, their exact yield is unknown, but is estimated to be around 800 kilotons-1 megaton), which is well over 50x bigger than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima. Those on the Battleship Express had no idea what a nuclear weapon that powerful would do if it was unleashed on Equus. Yes, Zandia would be a test, though the parameters of that test were still being set, and they were still unsure if they'd be able to contain that much fallout. Eventually, they did decide to go for it after reviewing some data, and the results could be felt as far away as Baltimare, and even the Caribou capital of Donneth.
Why didn't they just nuke the place without risking everyone's lives? Now some of their soldiers lost their lives for pretty much no reason, and the entire battle was completely avoidable. Why is this?

Hello NoobMaster69,
And I mentioned briefly in this chapter, and the next chapter, the Battleship Express crew wanted to use a nuclear shell to wipe out Zandia, however, since no nuclear weapons had ever been detonated on Equus before, scientists in Manehattan were trying to determine exactly what the effects of such a weapon would be. They worked as fast as they could, but couldn’t come up with any results until after the battle had ended. And as you’ll soon see, the green light for using nuclear weapons was given for other places in the Zebra Empire
