Hello Erik_The_Shitposter,
Well, if you were wondering the meaning behind this, and why I chose this particular neck of Redit, (If Futadom World even came from Redit, correct me if I'm wrong), I'll tell you.
Have you ever been on the dark side of the internet? You probably have, right? Well, did you ever find anything that looked at least somewhat cute? Well, that's what I thought that this was. However, over time, I dug deeper. The deeper I got, the worse and worse it got. Finally, after putting all of the puzzle pieces together, I saw what Futadom World really was. They conquered their world, and although the Free-Male States fought back, eventually, all males went extinct, leaving only a small percentage of women, and of course, futas. When I realized this, i thought, "Hey! That's not right! Somebody needs to fix this!" So, I did. I created "Battleship Express. An alternate universe where the good guys are the US and her allies, and the Futa Empire are the bad guys.
I also noticed eerie similarities between the Futas, and the Caribou Empire, from Fall of Equestria, and the Zebra Empire from the Zebra Domination Universe. Since I despised both, and love reading stories where the Caribou got their asses kicked, and couldn't find a single story of the Zebra Empire getting ripped a new one, I decided to fix that too.
In the end, "Battleship Express" is a concoction of Futadom World, Fall of Equestria, Zebra Domination, and Fallout. An amazing mixture if I do say so myself. Only time will tell if the story is successful, but I hope that this answered your question.
Hmmmm... Reminds me of the setting of Kanaberi of the Iron Fortress. But zombie-like creature infestation not futa dominatrix imperialists.
8620746
Hello Autarch Prime,
And I guess so? But yet, not really. I don't really see any similarities, only a lot of differences. That was a zombie virus. This was an evil empire trying to take over the world. In the end, they failed. And I can tell you, A futa is a heck of a lot easier to kill than a Kabane Zombie!
8620797
No its the similarities with using trains as a mode of defense and strike. And basically the main setting.
But the Futa Empire and the Battleship Express got nothing on this. They'll be mere meals for this!

Hello Autarch Prime,
And I just came to the realization that there are folks out there with bigger and better weapons than I have. However, the Battleship Express is as close as you can get to that, without being seriously OP!
8621883
Like a Psionic Imperator-class Titan or a Bolo?
Then again, there was a bomb in Doctor Who that could erase all of reality in an instant. You do have me hooked on the idea of a war platform train. It will probably be one of my top ten favorite machines of mass destruction over the simple fact that it is a train. The railguns and the other hundred weapons are just an extremely lovely detail that brings out the conquerer from my train enthusiast in a mishmash of doom, despair, and utter sadness for those that would oppose it. Nonetheless, BINGE READING TIME!
8646014
Hello XerainTheBountyHunter,
And, not really. Like I've hinted at before, and you said it, the Battleship Express is a war train. A mobile weapons platform with 2 heavily modified railguns, 4 modified 16in guns arranged by 3's in a turret, machine guns, medium and heavy artillery guns, missile launchers, AA weapons, and many others. It's a rolling WOMD, that's claimed well over a million lives, even before it arrived in Equestria! It has a full-time crew of 216 men, it's own private battalion assigned to the train, Battalion 4009, it's own supply train, Iron Glory, and is also home to a few family members, spouses, significant others, and a bevy of pets. It's technically a fortress-city on rails!
Also, I'm glad that you're enjoying the story, and good luck with your binge reading!
you may want to use a different number for the Battleship Express; Big Boy #4009 was scrapped in the 1960s; the more viable locomotive for your story would be #4014, which is currently undergoing operational restoration in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
8667332
Hello EasyBreeze,
And I started to mention this in a later chapter, but I didn't fully explain it at the time. When I did, I said that technically, the engine's number should have been "4025", instead of "4009". Here's the basic scoop, that I'll explain later. Basically, in the mid 1940's, after locomotive 4024 was finished and put into service, ALCO, the American Locomotive Company, began work on one final Big Boy locomotive. The engine was never completed, nor was it ever officially given a number. Eventually, the 30% complete engine was moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, and left to rust. Eventually, in year 2018, the engine's remains were discovered, and following the success of 4014, it was decided to complete the engine's construction. Just after the engine was completed though, the series of World Wars began. It was STILL never given a number, but it was eventually decided by those who crewed her to give her the numbers "40", because she was a part of the 4000 Series of locomotives, and "09", because she was the 9th engine fully restored by Union Pacific. So, she was called "4009", instead of "4025."
The full story will be explained towards the end of this story, but since you asked, I decided to give the basic scoop now, as it contains no story spoilers.

DAM! a splore
8701524
Hello funguy26,
And what's a "splore"? I've never heard that term before.
Ha Futa really lol that's one enemy
8702030
Hello BlackShadow of Abys,
And don't laugh. The Futa Empire was no laughing matter! They were able to conquer most of the world before their advances could be rolled back. Multiple times throughout this story, I mention how sick, depraved, and evil the Futas were, and why we fought them.
(Let's just say that I found "FutaDom World" by accident, and after realizing just how gross and depraved the Futas were, I decided to make them the enemies here.)
I like almost everything about this story except for the part were nearly all humans had animal features, that kinda threw me off interest wise but I'll read a few more chapters to see if I want to continue it.
8708266
Hello Earthpatriot117,
And yeah, that can be a little bit off-putting. I explain it in this chapter as being unethical medical experiments, but much later on, I give a full explanation. It was a super-soldier project gone horribly wrong. Now, we're stuck living with the consequences.
However, yes, please read the next couple of chapters. I know that it will perk your interest again.
*shivers and trembles in excitement*

Hello LunarSoulOfTheLostLegion,
and yes, this story was my FINEST work! Almost EVERYPONY loved it, and gave it great reviews! If you like war, war trains, Humans kicking ass, Enemies of Equestria being slaughtered without mercy, and even, sex on the battlefield, then I GUARANTEE that you'll love not only this story, but it's sequel as well!
Anyway, I hope that you enjoy it, and feel free to comment again once you've read farther into the story!
KING DAINN!! AWWW HHHEEELLLLLLLSSSS NNNNNNNNNAAAAAAWWWWWW SOMEONE GET MEH SHOTGUN!!
8821156
Hello shadowgod3211,
And yes, King Danin is in this story, as well as the sequel, and he will be in the sequel's sequel as well. The hurt WILL be brought to him, and the rest of the Caribou, and they will FRY for their actions! The question is though, how many times will they have to fry before they finally die? Well, spoiler alert, most die in this story, while a few, including Danin, survive to the sequel, which doesn't contain any warfare. HOWEVER, the soon-to-be sequel to the sequel, will, and THEN Danin finally gets what's coming to him!
Okay. I'm interested. You've got me.
But when they're Anthro, does that mean they've got fingers? Or do they just stand on their hind legs and their hooves as their hands?
I spotted some unnecessary Capitalization Here and There, but apart from that, I'm hooked. Onward to the next chapter, mates!

Hello Permanent Temporary,
And good night Irene, this has got to be the BIGGEST wall of text that I've ever seen! Oh well, better start breaking this down.
1. Well, I'm sorry that you don't like stories that start with a diary entry.
2. Over the course of WW3, WW4, WW5, and WW6, Captain Leopard kept an audio diary. He said that it was entry 3,300 in total, and 1,973 since the start of the war, meaning WW6.
3. I explain this in later chapters, and in the story's sequel. Ever heard of "Futadom World"? Yeah, I HATE IT, and this is where that came from!
4. This is mentioned again later, but the "Forgotten War" was a minor violent skirmish that was largely forgotten by those who didn't fight in it, kinda like WW1 is in this day and age.
5. I give a MUCH more thorough explanation of this in this story's sequel, "Beyond the Express", though it is mentioned again in this one in a few later chapters. It's not that confusing once you read it.
6. I don't use religious profanity in my stories PERIOD! This is why I say "God-awful" and "Gosh-damned".
7. Oh boy. Like I said before, I don't hate Futas and Herms, but what I ABHOR, is "Futadom World". Google it, as I don't have time to explain it here, but I HATED IT, and I wrote this as a counter-story. However, all is not as dark as it seems. As revealed by Captain Leopard himself later, he himself loved a Hermaphrodite, and loved her very dearly. Her name was Carla, and she becomes a major character later on. Again, I don't hate them per say, I just hate where this particular type of Futa originated from.
8. First came the Matriarchal World Empire, then the Black World Order, and then the Futa Empire. ALL of these empires sought world domination, and very nearly got it. So yes, the Futas are indeed the 3rd World Order.
9. Yes. Again, I don't have time to explain this, but please Google it. I hated it, and used this as a counter-fic.
10. The world wars in this story lasted MUCH longer than just a decade. Like I said before, 27 years, but compacted due to paradoxes within the confines of Time and Space. And spans of about 2-4 years happened between the World Wars. And YES, the world DID try to rebuild, and repopulate, bun unfortunately NEVER got very far due to ANOTHER would be world-empire coming to power, and starting ANOTHER war for world takeover! Those fighting were SICK AND TIRED OF WAR, and wanted NOTHING further to do with it! Oh, and these alleged "pussies" were NOT those who wanted peace. As I talk about EXTREMELY thoroughly in this story's sequel, they were pawns of these world orders, and tried to get the world to surrender in a bloodless coup. It didn't happen, and a new world war would start. Again, NOT what you think it's like, so PLEASE read a chapter in the sequel called "Leopard's tragic life, and War backstory", it explains EVERYTHING in great detail!
11. Yeah, I know that. And why no bombs and missiles? Those were added to the train later on once it was back in the US. The blueprints for them were unavailable at the time, so they weren't added to the train until later.
12. This was the ONLY way to do it! In case you were unaware, there were 3 world wars that happened before this story, AND WW6! World wars REALLY tend to wipe out technology, and due to shortages of fuel, these types of engines, and even engines like diesels were practically extinct due to there being no fuel for them! Steam engines survived due to their still being enough coal and water to run them. Oh no, I'M not the fool here, it's YOU for so foolishly trusting modern technology; technology that can be destroyed by an EMP blast, or run out of fuel. Luckily for the fans of this story, I wrote it the way that I did, and the story thrived because of it.
13. Oh really? These trains were used as mobile heavy artillery platforms. and a rolling fortress. They were mobile WOMD's, and inflicted HUGE amounts of casualties on the enemies of the US! None were more famous than the Battleship Express, and sure, maybe it could only go where the rails were, but due to trains being really the only viable means of transportation due to fuel shortages, a LOT more track was laid that what currently exists in the US!
14. Yeah. They killed almost a million Futas who were the ENEMIES of the Western World, and who sought to end not only the US, but even the Male Species itself! PLEASE read that chapter from the sequel, PLEASE! They did this because this was war, and they were fighting enemy soldiers! They did NOT do this for fun! I'm REALLY starting to get the feeling that you know nothing about how wars are fought, or why. Or if you do, your views on them are skewed.
15. *Sighs* This is an Easter Egg. I put that bit in because in real life, my first job was working at a Pizza Ranch restaurant. I just wanted to give them a little shout out. And he's wearing his uniform under his jacket. It's not specifically mentioned in this chapter, but it is in the next one.
16. Hey, you stop cussing at me right now! I did NOTHING to deserve your hatred! Jeezums, you're worse than my brother! But if you INSIST, this IS mentioned again in this story, it's sequel, and will be mentioned again in the sequel's sequel, and then FINALLY, in the 4th and final book, (which will be written at a future date, an answer will FINALLY be given! I did NOT just throw this out there for no gosh-damn reason. I HAVE a plan for it, so you just cool your jets there buddy, stop cussing people out for no reason, and learn to show some respect. I'm taking time out of my morning to answer your comment, so the least you can do is be polite about it!
17. *bursts out laughing* WHAT!?!?!?!?! Are you kidding me?!?!?! Oh wait, you're serious? Let me laugh even harder! Here in the real world, a SINGLE Big Boy locomotive could pull a fully-loaded 3 mile long train through the mountains at 50mph! My train is just 32 cars! 32 heavy cars sure, but still just 32 cars! Please, for the future, get your facts straight. I don't want you to make yourself look like a fool again. I mention how its done in later chapters that involve combat scenes, but yes, it IS possible, and even if it isn't, please remember, this story is FICTIONAL!
18. Keep your pants, on, I come back to this later. I subtly mention it now, so that it's not a shock later.
19. And now we get to the meat of the matter. In case it wasn't clear before, ALL of the train's weapons are HEAVILY MODIFIED! This was done to cut down on their size, and to conserve space, and keep the train's full gross weight down. Real life Phalanx cannons are 16 feet tall, the ones in my story are about half that, if not slightly more. I guess that I should have mentioned this before, but now you know!
20. I touch on this later, but despite what it sounds like, the pillbox is NOT mounted directly to the boiler. Instead, it's sitting on the platform just above the front cowcatcher, right behind the Big Boy's headlights, and the plate with its number on it. Also, the pillbox is entered through a small door in the back, though this is never done until the a later book, "Battleship Express: Back in Action!", the sequel to "Beyond the Express", which is the sequel to this story. And no, that story hasn't been written yet, as I'm still working on "Beyond the Express".
21. They replaced the GLASS in the windows with bullet-proof glass. The window frames themselves were left in, (as implied in later chapters), but the glass itself was replaced with bullet-proof glass. The windows of the cab still open and close.
22. Yes, food is cooked in the cab. HOWEVER, the shovel used is ONLY used for cooking food on, and is WASHED, DRIED, AND SANITIZED after every use! However, coal dust really CAN add to the flavor sometimes!
23. Technically he is, but because of the war, Shining Armor is referred to more as a General than a Prince. Once the war is over, he's referred to as a Prince again.
And let me end this comment with this. I don't know who you are, or what your problem is, but I must say, there's constructive criticism, and then there's what you did. You had very little to offer me on how to improve my story, and instead just seemed to be insulting my intelligence, and my work. I felt like I was getting trashed by someone who didn't know that this story was a work of FICTION!!!!!! Things happen that couldn't happen in real life! You kept bashing my work, but yet never told me how to make it better. And if my story was garbage, do you honestly think that it would have 1.4k views and CLIMBING?!?!?! People LOVE "Battleship Express", just as they love its sequel, "Beyond the Express". Sure, there is room for improvement, and I'm open to suggestions, but what I have a problem with is people like you who seem to come off as huge assholes. Maybe that wasn't your intent, but that's sure what you seemed like.
I looked at your profile, and you have 0 stories. I have 4 published, with more on the way. "Battleship Express" is my most popular, followed by "Beyond the Express". You have NO IDEA what writing a story is like, nor what kind of pressures are on an author like me. Write a story, and THEN come back here and talk to me! Criticism I can handle, but what I can't handle, are people who just want to stomp on MY hard-written work, and not offer advice on how to make it better. I don't hate, but yet, I can have a strong dislike to certain things. You are pushing that line. Again, I don't know if you were trying to help me, and just failed miserably, or if you were just being a troll, or just a jerk, but please be careful about how you tell me I'm wrong in the future. Andif you do, PLEASE give me something to improve on! Just something to think about.

Hello Trixiecat,
And yes, hold on Equestria, America is coming to help you, and they’re bringing their biggest guns with them!
u need to make it WW3 because its 2019 right now and WWII was back in the late 1930’s and early 1940’s to 1945 and 2026 is only 7 years from now and there has not been a 3rd world war so that would not make any sense to put a 4th, 5th, and 6th world war into the story unless u make the year like 2100 and above
the train should be called the “Fort Knox Express”
9504366
Hello Wolfie566,
And there's actually a funny story about that. This isn't in the story yet, but it'll be a flashback in a future story. It involves how the train got its name. No one knew what to call it when it was first being built. Some considered calling the "Rail Dreadnought", but there was already a train by that name, the very first battleship train. Finally, one day as a joke, Captain Leopard was climbing onto the train, and the looked at his comrades and yelled, "All aboard the Battleship Express! Next stop Vegas!" Luckily for him, both Major Don, the man in charge of the train, and Chief Engineer Jim Bender heard what he said, and they submitted the name to the US Army officers who oversaw the Railway Warfare Division. Sure enough, they liked the name, and that one little quip became immortalized by the train that it named.
9504330
Hello Wolfie556,
And yes, I've been asked this before. There is an answer, and in fact, it's a VERY detailed one. The truth is, the Battleship Express Series follows a VERY closely-woven, and intricate timeline of events. I didn't just pull random dates out, there's a VERY specific timeline. The full timeline isn't revealed until the sequel, "Beyond the Express". but since it's not spoiling too much, I'll lay it out for you now.
In a nutshell, for starters, the Battleship Express Universe takes place in a parallel Dimension. It's a world like ours, but some events played out differently last year (2018), and that's where the timelines split. in December of 2018, a US Congresswoman named Felicia Day told of having "dreams and visions" of a world where women ruled, and men were merely slaves. She built up a following, and they all tried to plunge the world into chaos. WW3 was the result, and the war lasted for less than 2 years, and was over in 2020 with an Allied Victory. The Matriarchal World Empire was crushed, never to rise again.
However, at this same time, another group was rising in Africa. Calling themselves the One Race Empire, they vowed to wipe out all races that were not a minority, and rule supreme. The rest of the world didn't want this, and they fought back. However, WW4 went nuclear, and the world was nuked MANY times over. 4 years later, everything collapsed, and WW4 ended. Some considered it a ORE victory, but that is NOT the case. Most military forces retreated out to sea, or underground, and continued to fight back viciously! The world was a nuclear hellscape, and the good guys needed help. In their despair, they cried out, and someone heard their call. In Asia, a new group came to power. Called the "Futa Kingdoms, they were a collective of small kingdoms of Futas and Herms ruled by the ailing Queen Boudica. The Futas and Herms came to the aide of those fighting the ORE, and the ORE fought back, thus triggering WW5. WW5 was the WORST war in Human History. More people died in it than all other wars COMBINED! However, the good guys prevailed, the ORE was wiped out, and now the world could heal again, or so we all hoped.
Strangely, Time seemed to stand still. WW5 began in 2024, and raged for 5 years, however, by the end of it, it was only 2022. Yes, I DO have a reason for this, but it involves the plot of a future sequel, and I CANNOT spoil it yet! It involves a series of glitches with the Space-Time Continuum, as well as paradoxes correcting themselves.
After WW5 ended, the countries of the world tried to piece themselves back together again. at this same time, Queen Boudica consolidated all of the Futa Kingdoms, and combined them into the Futa Empire. She was the first Empress, but she only ruled for a few years. Due to her poor health, she died at age 74. Her eldest daughter Demetria then took over the throne. She wanted peace, but other Futas wanted war. Under the leadership of General Stacy Rikker, Demetria's youngest of her 2 daughters, gathered the military might of the Futa Empire, and declared war in 2023. WW6 was on.
Less than a year later, in late May of 2024, the war stalemated into the Second Cold War. This was a cold war on paper, but in reality, it was anything but. The fighting never really ended, and in December of 2026, WW6 resumed, and the Futas were hurled on the defensive. Slowly, the US was retaken by the Americans, until we reach May of 2029, where our story begins.
Yes, i KNOW that this was really condensed, but the full timeline is in the sequel. I hope that my brief explanation shined some light on how the timeline is structured though, and why WW6 is raging in the year 2029.
Hey, I wanted to ask if this was inspired by the movie and TV series snowpiercer by any chance. It would be super cool if it was, cuz I'm a fan of that show.
11095647
Hello NoobMaster69,
And no, it wasn't. I wrote this story before I ever even heard of Snowpiercer. However, I can tell you what it was based on. Most of it was based it on the story "Rails of Destruction", by "An Iowa-Class Battleship"
https://www.fimfiction.net/story/111403/rails-of-destruction
And the rest of it came from my extreme dislike of the "Fall of Equestria", and the various Zebradom Universes, as well as the Non-MLP Futadom Universe
What the fuck
Question, if these people are so afraid of the train why don't they just blow up the train tracks headed towards their territory?
Here's the thing, as the author it's your responsibility to answer any question the reader may have within the story they're reading. That's why the 343 trilogy was dumb because it required the player to do a book report first.
I think a better answer would be that the war has apparently ruined America's world famous logistical and industrial capacity. Otherwise they could easily have acquired more fuel and made more engines, but considering half the country was occupied & presumably the EMP ruined civilian infrastructure (mil hardware should be fine if they weren't already ground up from attrition) that doesn't seem to be an option
11338743
Hello Terranallias18,
And yes, the Futanari Empire is the “Big Bad” in WW6. However, Leopard’s descriptions of them here are just him venting his frustrations into a recorder for his own private logs; it wasn’t meant to be heard by anyone else. More lore about the Futas is explained as the story goes on, at least enough to know who they are, and what they want. A more in-depth dive into their lore can be found in this story’s sequel, “Beyond the Express”. But if you have any questions about the Futas, feel free to ask. I love talking about this topic
11338789
Hello Terranallias18,
And this is a question that I’ve been asked before, and in all honesty, it’s one of those things that you have to suspend your disbelief for when reading. However, there is an explanation in-universe, though not mentioned in the stories as of yet. The reason why the Futas didn’t just destroy the tracks was because railroads were the main source of transportation for soldiers, and war materials on both sides, due to the fuel shortages. So if the Futas bombed the tracks, then they wouldn’t be able to use them either to transport supplies and troops to the ever-changing frontlines
11338850
Hello Terranallias18,
And I’m honestly surprised that you’re reading the comments of this story too, and commenting on them. Not too many people do that. Now onto your main points
1. I don’t remember this incident exactly, but it may not have been laziness on my part, as I love talking about BE Lore, but it may have been my exasperation from being asked the same questions multiple times. Or it could be to fully answer the question, I would have had to have written a ton of things in an answer, as it couldn’t be explained easily. I’m any case though, this happened early on on my writing, and I’ve improved since then
2. And this answer was my frustration with the person who asked me this, and other questions, in a very rude way. He wasn’t criticizing my story to help me improve, he was criticizing them just to be an ass. So my answers were semi-equally assholish. However, there is an in-universe explanation for why America is having so much trouble dealing with the Futas. As elaborated upon in the story, the previous World Wars, most notably 4-5, which were both atomic wars at their beginnings, severely strained the world’s natural resources, wiped out key infrastructure, and killed tens of millions of people. This infrastructure was still being rebuilt, new oil wells were being drilled, new refineries were being built, biofuel was being produced, and power plants were being rebuilt when WW6 broke out, and now all of these resources had to be redirected from the civilian market to a full wartime capacity. And the fuel shortages would only get worse when the Futas conquered the US mainland from San Fran to St. Louis, and until the oil fields in the west could be reached again, as well as factories, and other infrastructure there, Americans were struggling to hold off the Futas, and maintain some semblance of a normal life in the midst of WW6
the first 2 paragraphs are mind numbing and i love it
11513784
Hello AutisticVeganPussy,
And I'm glad that you like the first 2 paragraphs. Most of this story's Prologue is paying homage to a now-deleted story called "Rails of Destruction", which is the story that inspired this one
I would have put these events more towards 2130.
I would make sure to have allies scouting the tracks ahead to make sure they were in good condition.
Was I supposed to remember the configuration of the train?
11823331
Hello Luckyfanisaac,
And I can see your point, but I can't do that. Why? Because this story takes place within the same universe as "Rails of Destruction", the main events of which start in 2098
I'm glad you liked these 2 little jokes though
