Have the caribou stage a coup. I think that could spare them from the humans while Danin gets the chopping block.

Hello KR Chrome,
And I have a plan for this. In a later battle for one of the coastal cities that contains a naval base, a group of Caribou decide to rebel, and blow up the naval base. Unfortunately, the resulting fires and explosions burn out of control, and not only the base, but also the entire city, and surrounding area are destroyed as well. We also manage to sink nearly 40% of the entire Caribou Navy. These are blows that the Caribou never recover from. After this, large numbers of Caribou do begin to surrender, while others still vow to fight to the end. Let's just say that those who do surrender get to live a little bit longer!

Think it could work. But don't just throw pacing out the window tho. Id say dedicate some slice of life chapters after the war where spit and leopard get to know each other, as well as the rest of the mane 6 pairings. Then end it off with their wedding.

I must say though I envision one of the BLOODIEST WARS I'VE SEEN YET resulting from the war on the caribou but the best part, the gloves are coming off now!!!

Hello ShadowLight 96,
And don't worry, I plan to pace this well. Aside from defeating the Caribou, there's also FINDING Rainbow Dash, getting her, Pinkie, Cole, Missy and others to safety, the Caribou's final defeat, and then heading home. The story will end with some sweet moments, but then, comes the twist that sets up the sequel.
However, I plan on putting the wedding scenes in this story's sequel, "Beyond the Express." That story will be all about the weddings, early life together, and raising families. It will cover a period of nearly 11 years, PLENTY of time to pace everything!

Hello Randomfastreader,
And yes, this war with the Caribou, will be the bloodiest conflict since WW6 against the Futas. The battles will be intense, and the weather will be all over the board. Sometimes it rains, sometimes it doesn't. Then, Winter sets in, and then battles happen in the snow. Winter lasts for a while, and then spring comes. The weather in the Caribou Empire is rather wacky!
Also, yes, there will be more glorious nuclear weapons! Leopard will cause as much mayhem and havoc as he possibly can. This war, will be the last for many of the Caribou who refused to surrender. Most of the ones who survive, surrendered the first chance that they got. This will go on for a bit, but it will be packed full of battle scenes, as well as a number of conversations between me, and King "Shadow" Sombra, regarding our relationship.
It will definitely be a fight to the finish line, that's for sure!

Liking that visual bro. Twist sounds interesting, not sure how necessary it will be for a sequel. You could probably just end it with leopard and dash walking back to the train to go home after a hard fought battle and people would eat it up, as well as the option of telling about the aftermath, but I'm interested to see how you end it.

Oh, don't worry, the ending will be amazing. It will end with everyone and everypony reuniting after the war ends, but then. comes the twist. I don't want to really spoil anything yet, but let's just say that some of us, haven't seen the last of our most hated foes just yet. I'll let you decide what I mean by this, until I reveal it for real.

Futas.
8668439
Like I said, I'll leave it up to you to decide, but just know right now that that twist will lead to something amazing. Terrible yes, but amazing nonetheless!

Looking forward to it

Glad to hear it!
I'm back and, I kinda knew where this chapter was going.

Hello GodofSalvation,
And I'm glad that you're back!
And yes, this chapter had to set up what's to come. I wrote it the best that I could, and I tried to make it interesting. I hope that I succeeded!
That's not a win-win. That's a "we gotta eat a shit sandwich, but if we comply they'll let us put jelly on it first".
For being an evil asshat, he isn't thinking very smart-like. Okay, he doesn't want to surrender. I get it. But doesn't he consider that hostages being in military locations to be the one thing that might stop the humans from flattening a location? Slaves might be a valuable resource, but they can't be more valuable than the locations they are about to lose. Keep them spread out among the high value targets and it forces the enemy to attack the old fashioned way; boots on the ground and close range.

Hello Solana Vin Neighpal,
And General Stuggs was just trying to paint this in the best possible light. He knew that they could still be invaded, but he was trying to paint this in the best possible light so that Danin wouldn't try to kill him, and at the same time, he just came to the seeming unreal realization that their enemies on the Battleship Express had just wholly LEVELED the rest of the Zebra Empire with a terrifying new weapon; a weapon that could EASILY be turned on them if the war was not brought to a conclusion ASAP
And you're absolutely right. In a future chapter (I can't remember which, but it's very soon after this one), General Stuggs tries to point out this exact same thing to King Danin, but Danin doesn't want to hear it. He knows that he's right, and doesn't want to hear any dissenting opinions.

I see it now. Been just reading bits at a time at work. Yea, Dainin is proving to be a complete tactical buffoon in this fic. Haven't really read much FoE so I don't know how this lines up with the original, but here he's an idiot. But that goes for a lot of them I suppose.
Dude... you do NOT reply like that. Ever. Shit is about to hit the fan because of that one combination of words.
10482166
I'm not entirely sure how militarily competent the Caribou were either, as most "FoE" stories take place after the Fall, with only a few references to the Caribou invading, and most stories either don't say how it happened, or if they do, it's either vague, or the story only got a Chapter or so in, and then stopped, so we never get to see it. "Battleship Express" is a bit rare, as not only does it show the Caribou invading, or at least attempting to invade, but it also shows the mindsets of the Caribous at critical points. I can only think of 2-3 other stories (all of then Anti-FoE) that do this, as most other FoE stories just focus on life under the Caribou, how the Caribou messed up holidays and major events (ie, made them all about rape, sex, female inferiority, and male dominance), and a few about how the Caribou crushed resistance groups. The Caribou never fall in these stories; to see them fall, you have to look at the Anti-FoE stories.
However, the Caribou being arrogant, and sometimes completely militarily incompetent does share common ground with other Anti-FoE stories. They've never faced an enemy like Humanity before, and they figured that their conquest of Equestria would be easy, as the Ponies hadn't fought a major war in so long, and those of the Imperial Alliance had flattened lesser enemies as their Alliance was forming, so they figured that Equestria would be an easy conquest, and it might have been, as Equestria was standing almost alone against 2 of the largest military powerhouses on the planet, but luckily for them, Fate had other ideas in store, and sent the Battleship Express and Battalion 4009 to them. And the Humans fought dirty, and used tactics never before seen by the Caribou or Zebras, not to mention superior weapons, and were soon not only turning the tide of the war, but wholly slaughtering them as well. The Zebra Empire was wiped off the face of Equus, and now the Caribou Empire is soon to follow
10482194
It does, but not in the way that you think, and it won't happen in this story. Some of the consequences of this event begin to show in the sequel, "Beyond the Express", but the full consequences of having more than one wife don't strike Leopard down until much later in the series. But yes, he shouldn't have said that. However, he was trying to juggle coming to terms with what Spitfire had just told him, and the imminent war in the Caribou Empire, so his brain was overloading, and was just trying to find a way to cool down before it exploded
10482166
To answer that Dainn is a buffoon yes but realize that if I'm correct Dainn and Hitler had the same idea blitzkrieg strike hard strike fast and kill or capture as many as possible
11420486
Yes. I didn't think about this before, but you're right. Danin is indeed a lot like Hitler, and the Caribou tried to use their Blitzkrieg tactics on Equestria, only to have them get bogged down, first in Ponyville, then in Las Pegasus, and then finally in Appaloosa and Dodge City. After this, the only Blitzkrieg that was being used was against the Caribou
I’m into polyamory and seen a lot of it in equestrian stories and I think it would work.
11824113
It does work, as you'll see later in the story, and its sequel
