Dan_s Comments

Story teller at heart. I like to examine the unusual. I spend too much time being 'reasonable'. I write to play, and hope others enjoy the results.

Can someone tell me, what the f:yay: i just read?

8467651 The introduction to one of the invaders.
People kept complaining my chapters were too long, so I decided to try the Netflix model, write the thing and break it into small bits at important cliffhangers.

welcome to Dan_s Comments' writing style

nice premise also getting an Aporia vibe and from you that's a great thing

I like how the character 'noped' his way out of Ponyville.

8467702
Uuh... one the good guys or the bad guys?....

I'm hoping for the former

8467702
No such thing as too long a chapter. A chapter is exactly the length it needs to be.

8468212 8469616

8468239 I have a recognizable style? Good, when I start selling my original novel then it will be recognizable. :rainbowwild:
Gee, thanks Rainbow.

8469183 That's the problem, there are only bad guys, but some are on Equestria's side.

8469770
But is this guy one the "technically" good bad guys who isn't directly fighting against Equestria?

8469778 That depends on whether you believe Winona is a good judge of character or not.

The Fae kind I assume, giving the horror?

Interesting, if a little disjointed and oddly paced. I'll see where this goes.

8476493 Seelie and Unseelie Court types, yes. Of course if you read the Silmarillion, then the Noldor aren't exactly the kind of people you want as neighbors either.

Brony alicorn invasion?... did i understand right?.....

I don't want to be an alicorn.... i prefer being a thestral. Suits me much better.

8486356 There's no Dragon tag, and there's a limit of six (for story types), which I used.

8486425 You got it.
Then the Elf-Queen wouldn't give you a ticket to Equestria.

8486978
And i don't exactly take orders from someone who calls themselves an "Elf Queen" even if the title is true.
I'm a clever bastard and i'd find a way to either piggyback off of her spell or twist her spell to give me a form i find better than being an alicorn. Most likely i'd twist the spell to be my own. And the "Elf Queen" has no power to stop me no matter what she tries.:pinkiecrazy:

And when i arrive to Equestria as a thestral, i'd go straight to Canterlot and pledge my life and servitude to Her Highness, Princess Luna.

Did that tea have a piece of fairy cake in it? Sound like a vision of something from the total perspective vortex. It's an interesting clue, for I think these bronies would be weak to mental attacks.

I'm surprised the guy even filed a missing person's report. I'd expect him to just take the property and job as his and abandon them whenever it was convenient. Pleasant surprise to see otherwise. Then again, this only highlights why he isn't in the same class as the other alicorns.

8491419
It's the same knurd-inducing number 6 that he had a demitasse of.

As for filing the report, he thinks it's what a 'good' pony would do. Considering that he's having sex with a cop, he's going to play it straight. Besides, giving him an Elf-Queen to kill: good, sticking him with a business: bad.

Even his horn had been unraveled looking more like a tumbleweed than a horn.

That sounds really painful.

8505429

Oh I'm not going to kill you, I'm just going to hurt you, really, really bad.

Were they there for Cadance, Luna, him, or just causing random destruction? The last one is a huge problem if evil alicorns randomly rampage across the land until they get opposition. It would certainly be distracting, but I was under the impression the invaders were targeted for maximal effect.

8505613 Likely they were after someone in Ponyville and were incensed when they didn't arrive there.

The other possibility is they've gone from those after 'their waifu', to those who want to be the biggest, baddest villain Equestria has ever seen.

Don't worry, the Main Six and the 'Alicorn Brigade' are ready and will hit the next group of invaders with overwhelming force.

This story needs a pack of puppies rampaging through the lands.

I am so confused...

8512653 8513712
You wanted a pack of puppies, I give them to you and you're confused?

You people are gaslighting me, i swear.

It's an introduction by an alien, so it's going to be skewed/screwy.

From guessing,
he-who-writes is Kolchak, who is a writer/journalist
drab speciesist is Dresden
drab he-of-nonviolence is ?
brightly colored is Sailor Jupiter
arboreal is described as human so, seems like a red court vampire? Or something from the other 2 series, I don't know them
Or maybe, despite not being credited, maybe Ranma from Ranma 1/2 in cat mode?
All above are human
All color based descriptions are highly suspect, because the alien calls it super bright, but Kolchak feels the need for a flashlight.
The aliens' the physical description resembles an Elder-Thing, a Lovecraft being, as do its thoughts. Genetic Engineering matches up as well. Elder things definitely lived on earth for some time, making genetics on humans possible
Alien references Xoth, home to star-spawn, who war with elder things
Of interest, dragon-alicorn, swears to Yig, a Lovecraft mythos god of snakes/serpents, who curses anyone who kills one, but otherwise doesn't do much. He also matches up with Nightmare Dragon

Two are standing in a clearing,

1 Brightly Colored, fires lightning

2 makes an absorbing shield, then surrenders

3 He who writes, (Kolchak)shows up with a flashlight, then gets out a notepad

4 [fremling partner] Shows up in the trees from the other side of the alien, pissed off, attacks with weak "magic"(pex). Previously it was described as sounding like a wild animal in pain.

[Arboreal] is waiting and swipes with some generated claws, and hissing as a threat. These are not "magic"(pex) but vulog, some other type of energy. Chi or something

1-4 argue, Brightly Colored (Sailor, 1) sides with 2 who is arguing with 4. 3(Kolchak, writer) is shut down when he joins in
(Kolchak)

They fire the elements on the group, [Speciesist] and [nonviolence] are described as male, and put up shields. The elements beat [non-violence's] shield and pass through [Speciesist]. [Arboreal] flees. The initial pair, peacemakers, (1,2) are hit near lethally. 2 heals them both. 1 is described as bright and female, 2 as drab and male. The elder-thing recognizes the elements as some kind of morality based attack.

This leaves 1 and 4 as unknown males, with Dresden being one of them. Dresden doesn't have healing magic, so he can't be 1. Thus he is 4 [speciesist], the one who attacked on sight. His shields tend to manipulate force, which matches the pure magic elements traveling through it.

Interestingly, all 4 are described as having a similar genetic marker on them. This is odd, because they come from at least 2 different universes and some different times. Sailor moon is almost certainly a different universe from the others. Kolchak and Dresden are both from Chicago, but different times(unknown if same universe). Dresden is modern or near modern, with cell-phones, Kolchak is 1976. The elder-thing could be from any universe though Dresden magic and beings don't really fit into the Lovecraft one. From episode descriptions, neither does Kolchak's.

8514968 Excellent, all correct except that Kolchak was using the flash attachment on his camera and the flash cubes that went with it.

The Lovecraftian entities are classified as 'Outsiders', hence Dresden's instantaneous and hostile reaction.

I left Ranma off the credits? :facehoof: Thank you, fixed.

8515230
Lovecraftian entities in most yes. But Elder-Things very specifically are fully material, having no relation to the rest of the random stuff. Appearance similar to stuff he saw at the gates aside.

Oh yeah, and for the other characters I forgot to mention, the bloody keebler elves at the donut shop.

8519726

The Speciest I assume, in the narration. I assume the two wounded are Sailor Jupiter and Ranma Saitome, with He-Who-writes as Carl. I also assume the creature in the first person narrative is an original creation, and the Black Alicorn who was once a dragon is based somewhat on the type of character Percy became in the author's previous work.

8519747
The creature in first person is probably an 'elder thing' or whatever they're called from lovecraftian lore.

The five wings and alien scientist outlook gives it away.

The eldritch 'scientist' could link dreams together to have people dream of a significant amount of time together, and alter said dreams. That's a very scary kind of power if used wrongly. You could basically corrupt anyone to be a certain way if you knew what you were doing over the course of a single night.

And doing this with no understanding of the language and minimal body language.

8529444 As Ranma realized, that's what the Elder Thing did, all though Ranma doesn't realize who did it. Ignorance of the human and pony psyche would be a greater source of danger than malice, after all hubris was considered a greater sin by the Greeks than wrath.

From gorgey's analysis:
vulog, some other type of energy. Chi or something

But the Elder Thing is friendly, right? While already a skilled vulog manipulator, the Elder Thing did get a substantial upgrade, but did that upgrade come at a horrific cost?

I mean a sub-planetary body could not be concealed in a room, no matter how forbidding it was.

"Naw, she's right just kill'em," Spike said, "It's not like they could actually help us."

... Spike? You feeling alright there? Not tainted by some kind of evil, or worse, apathy towards the new?

Still, Rarity has a point. Any one of the characters so inserted into Equestria are heroes in their own right, specifically protagonists who are capable of a lot of collateral damage and surviving conflict. Not to mention I'm pretty sure each one has allies that would avenge them too. All of them together isn't a coincidence, it's an explosive charge that you hope the enemy sets off by shooting.

8533919 Spike is 'playing Nightmare's advocate' showing a bit of disgust at all the tough talk. As someone who could literally become Godzilla, he's more likely to support Fluttershy's effort than the braggarts.

I wonder if any of them have puzzled out thst they aren't all from thr same earth. Also the Elder Thing can only be called an Outsider as much as the rest of them csn, given he originates from Earth (or a version of it).

What happened to the black alicorn?

8542050 From Gorgey's analysis above:

Of interest, dragon-alicorn, swears to Yig, a Lovecraft mythos god of snakes/serpents, who curses anyone who kills one, but otherwise doesn't do much. He also matches up with Nightmare Dragon

So he's still running the doughnut shop, but Bruce is saying the dragon-alicorn is not an alicorn.

8542340
Thank you for clarifying that for me , I just got confused.

Forgive me for being an uncultured heathen, but I can't place where Patrick is supposed to come from. My guess is the Harry Potter universe, as an American wizard, but there is no mention of Harry Potter in the disclaimers.

8550701
He's a human wizard from the Lovecraft universe.

For someone acting very little like Harry, the traditional collateral flamage meets expectations.

8552897
Now I'm picturing Patrick as an Old Man Henderson type character.

8556969 Dan's whistles quietly. Oh look a flying De Loren! :fluttershysad::twilightsmile: Vanishes. :flutterrage::twilightangry2:

He glanced at the elves' rapidly dampening shoes and sniffed the air

:rainbowlaugh:
I guess they haven't forgotten him.
