Story teller at heart. I like to examine the unusual. I spend too much time being 'reasonable'. I write to play, and hope others enjoy the results.

If Celestia and Luna were born during G3.5, how did Celestia and Luna become the masterful rulers and mages we all know? Friendship. Who were these friends? And what kind of adventures did they have from the sweet and easy G3.5, to more difficult, dark and dangerous G4/FiM?

i have liked your other work so lets give this one a go:twilightsmile:

6840157 Go to sleep, you deserve it.

The story is well written but the ending seems weak and rushed. It is nice to see you continue writing again. I was convinced that you quit writing after inactivity of few months.

6840486 I wanted to complete this before I published it. A slight paradigm shift, as it were.

Well you did good work I highly approve:twilightsmile:

From the first chapter.

Celestia sighed at Luna's naivete. "Despite what we've all been told, some creatures are lost to darkness. Nothing can save them."

From the second.

Celestia: [....] but what of redemption and seeing the error of your ways?

Error or am I misreading?
Also, can you expand on the Tolkien thing?

6842519 Manwe never understood that 'He who arises in might' might want a job, so he left him to brood and become Morgoth, then after Morgoth destroyed the two lamps (way before the two trees incident), they only imprisoned him. On his release no one watched him, despite the Elves recognizing him as evil. The entire Silmarillion is full of the effects of Manwe 'being too pure to recognize evil'.

Then after the Vala massed their armies and defeated Morgoth, Eonwe had Sauron approach him, and rather than take him to be judged (which was his damn job!), he let Sauron escape. Everything that happened in the Second and Third Ages can be traced back to that act.

Basically the gods of Middle Earth (Vala and Maia) are wonderful builders, but piss-poor administrators.

The Trickster is alluding to the fact that many 'gods' faced with a similar problem, hire him, or people like him, to do the job properly. Getting Beatrice to teach the Eye-Lord to make eyes is a good example of the Trickster arranging things that are needed/desired.

Deci-kellicams? Is this fellow a Klingon, then?

6845714 No, that's just the local unit of measure, whether they got it or gave it to the Klingons, I leave to speculation.

All taken with all, I am very impressed with this work.

And I'm trying not to be That Guy, but there are typos here and there, or possibly incorrectly chosen homonyms.

A dragon's collection of treasure is his hoard; a horde is a disorganized army. A dragon hoards his hoard lest a horde rob him of it.

"Ethel" is the feminine name, "ethyl" a chemical structure.

Otherwise, well, I think I may have mentioned how impressed I am with the story. You have my thanks for writing it. I enjoyed reading it.

6852981 Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. The hoard/horde, I'll have to check on, one sentence intentionally used it two ways.

Ethyl is correct. We are talking about a Great Old One after all.

Then I suppose we'll have to wait for that story of the Princesses meeting the Klingons. It's a pity.

Been enjoying this story so far and its complete but i just didnt get the Trickster's story in chapter 3 maybe i'm dense i dont know but i couldn't get it and it left a big hole in the story for me.

7024520 He's describing the Cthulhu mythos/Outsiders, and that the Dresdenites are completely wrong about what they think the Outsiders are and what they want. He's also giving 'Injun Joe' and McCoy a subtle 'don't mess with me, you'll regret it', because he's EyeLord/Crazy Uncle Ethyl Special Forces.

I don't care what his objective was, the moment he willingly enslaved others and threatened them to get his bidding done, he became trash in my eyes, worthy only of a bullet in his temple.

I detest slavery and hold those who practice it to be lower than rats.

7345988 I strongly encourage you to loathe the institution.
However, Applejack's sheep and cows appear to be as sapient and sentient as most ponies.
Are not compensated for their labor besides food and housing.
Are not free to leave as they will.
Are denied the education young ponies are compelled to receive.

You could stretch the point and call them serfs, but that's still being owned by someone else.

One of the Best Fucking Fiction I have read yet. Applause :yay:

I Am incredibly confused and equally entertained... I'm half expecting the trickster to start speaking British English ,saying bollocks alot more than necessary , smoke 3 packs of cigs a day and start wearing a yellow trenchcoat , white shirt and a red tie while going around...
Excellent as ever Dan ... I swear you're gonna ruin other writers for me

This is too god damn grand... Why did I had a slight feeling from the start that the trickster would somehow become/influence Discord...
God dommot Dan you and your excellently written character's

Awesome story. Your multiverses remind me a lot of mine. One of these days I'll have to put mine to text.

You sir, have another stalker... I mean, watcher. :pinkiecrazy:

"Green means hot, yellow means cool,

Excuse me, WHAT

9739868

he said and gestured at a shower-head on a hose, then at a colorful knob mounted below it, "Green means hot, yellow means cool

One side's green, the other yellow.

This is really good. Of course, everything Dan writes is very good ... the show-off.

So far, I'm at the end of Chapter 2, and this really reminds me of Philip José Farmer's The Dungeon Series, Or at least what the dungeon series was supposed to be. (IE, good, which it sadly wasn't.)

I'm looking forward to finishing this.
