The changelings have been reformed, but many ponies are hesitant to accept them due to their sinister past. Twilight converses with Celestia and Luna about the proper action to take soon after Chrysalis's second defeat, but all three are met with differing opinions.

....Hmm.

This feels like a scene in a larger drama. It's too short, too... easily resolved.

7921897 Probably. Either way, it's here and in bite-sized form. If I ever decide to make it into something bigger I can use it. Thanks for reading!

Yeah except we already do the "extreme vetting". It's a solution that isn't. Or we don't do it to the correct people, which is a rather circular question.

This was supposed to be political allegory/satire of current USA events, right?

(bohemian rhapsody)

But seriously, was this supposed to be political allegory/satire? Or am I just going insane?

7922493 It wasn't supposed to...

But yeah, it basically is. Don't look into it or anything. It is first and foremost a story about cartoon horses and bug monsters, and similarities to reality are just unintended side effects.

but you're acting like we have to accept them and open ourselves completely to them despite the threat they posses."

I think you mean pose.
Also this doesn't really seem like an actual sadfic than just a sole slice of life story. Sadfic's tend to make the audience feel something for the characters shown, when it seems that in this story Celestia Luna and Twilight are little more than mouthpieces for differing opinions. I am actually quite surprised that Celestia was the one proposing complete integration. I would have expected Twilight to have that mindset with Celestia being more level headed in suggesting the tests and whatnot. She would have a thousand years more experience than Twilight after all.

Interesting. I felt like between the two, Celestia would have been the more benevolent and accepting. I knew from the get-go that Twilight would be the bridge between them so that was kind of set in stone, but I felt like Luna would be less accepting due to her *lack* of governance for so long. Since she's "newer" in that respect, she's more likely to feel like everything is a threat. As for Twilight, I think it makes some sense that she would be the one to suggest tests. But I see where you're coming from. One of them had to be the middle.

The idea here was "pessimist - realist - optimist"

I changed the grammar thing you mentioned, but it technically still works (although pose is better)

pessimist - realist - optimist

You should have included Discord as an opportunist... sitting in the corner and having a drink while those three are arguing... :derpytongue2:

Bad joke, I know. Don't care. :ajsmug:

Now if only immigration into countries could be controlled and limited to only those who can be tested and vetted to assimilate into the local culture.
