I'm not sure if the super short chapters work? Chapter 11 is only 191 words, it's basically 3 paragraphs. I think this would read better if some chapters were combined?
7497223 Are you following the links? The reason for the shorter chapters are because they're very transitionary, with Button simply getting to where he is needed for things to happen, and then you're given a choice as to what to do with the area. It's about letting you interact with the world, rather than walking to get somewhere, for the most part at least.
Edit: Also, for a CYOA, combining chapters is literally impossible without messing something up.

The tentative word count estimate I give is about 60k. This is due to having six main paths you can see now, one more due to the circus, extra bits due to me wanting to make time passing matter (hence the one that says the link is not forgotten about), which opens up a minimum of at least 3-4 different additional mini paths.
So I literally cannot give you an estimate. I can only say that one death should be in each update of 10k words.

Not only that, but to have a whole new chapter just to take it out, when chapters like no, or the choice to leave Sniper Elite, are just to allow you a preview before you dedicate yourself, I didn't want to artificially pad the overall word count like that.

I can't stop you from deciding to break the game, or not actually go down a route, but you can at least realize why such parts are there. Otherwise, you'd be locked into your first choice down a route that may not be appealing to you.
