Intriguing, please continue. I always find different authors takes on the history of the Apple Parent's fate interesting, not to mention McIntosh's take on things as the eldest of the siblings. NYC, that's a new twist though. The siblings came back to the farm after the accident.

Neat story. The emotions and the characterization feel realistic, but I think one little detail might have spoiled my anticipation. Meteoric Rise's orange eyes pretty much give away that she's Applebloom's mother, and judging by the romantic start here, that Big Mac is her father. It doesn't necessarily ruin the story, but it does lessen the mystery a bit. Ah well, it was hinted at in the first chapter when the poor filly found out her real birthday.
