Which is one of my complaints about this story... But we'll get to that later.
I am always happy to see aa new princest story show up. There are so few, and less that focus on their relationship.
I loved the opening, the back and forth with Celestia answering for Skylight. Indeed, I liked a great deal of this... If only there had been more buildup. Everything happened so fast that I couldn't process it and all the impact was lost. I want to be invested in these characters, but it's hard when when all you have given me is the vaugest impressions of them. Please slow down the pace a bit and build up some context. Let us get to know them before you try to tug at our hearts.
As for Skylight, please make him less of a generic 'cute kid' character, and don't make everyone, especially Celestia and Luna, act as though everything he does is adorable. It's not. Parents are allowed to get mad at their children, frustrated and annoyed too. Children are annoying and they make mistakes and good parents punish them and scold them. That's how at learn how to behave and grow into adults.
I'm not very good at critiques. I don't want to sound like I'm beating down on this story. I just really want it to be more.
