Those who haven't read it will have more direct access to the first story, because let's face it: There is a very large portion of FIMFiction that is too lazy to scroll down a bit further and guess that 'A Thousand Years' [which apparently isn't common sense (Who'd have thought?)] is the sequel you want to encourage people to read.
