So Celestia doesn´t accept romantic relationships with those who don´t match her sexual prowess Kinda superficial for a immortal demigoddess ruler. .
Cheaters. You got all from the beggining, while we stumbled for millions of years learning how to walk upright, making tools and build fires.
forgetting the sex witch was good this chapter really shows how Twilight is.
I know that may not make a lot of since to some but think about it this way Twilight just came face to face with a horse and is deeply in love with a human Phoenix and is remembering that he called her a horse at the first site of her.
ok now remember the Twilight is vary naïve about life and is still a verging.
so just stop and think about this chapter for a bit there is a much bigger and better story going on here that has never hit the paper.
exultant work Firesight you should be proud of this chapter.
Harts Fire
She could not allow the pantheon to wield her incredible powers to create EqG and a ship no one would like.
I hate chimpanzees for the same reason; That, and they're complete jerks. Worthless, poo-flinging, self-centered, opportunistic monsters without a single redeeming quality. And they don't even like us! Okay, rant over.
To be fair, horses are the most aesthetically pleasing, and brushable, of the Perissodactyla family. I'll admit, I still wouldn't want to be associated with an animal that takes a dump wherever it feels like though.
There's not nearly enough of this sort of thing.
I can totally see this as a rule 34 art piece drawn by Ponypron.
AND Phoenix and Iris had sex!? DANG IT! THERE'S JUST TOO MUCH TRAGEDY HERE! Welp, good-bye, Wriris; we had good times together inside my mind, but it's time to part ways... for this fic.
Ferro Stabile... Huh, well, you've managed to accomplish one thing: you made a pun that I don't get; typical Ace Attorney fare... Or maybe, if we relate Ferro to "ferrous", then that would mean "Iron". If you consider "Stabile", that could represent the "stability" of his and Celestia's relationship, or as in "stable" as in he's dating a pony. THEREFORE, his name could be taken to represent the strong, unyielding relationship between him and Celestia, even though she's secretly an equine!... OK, maybe it IS a decipherable pun after all.
... Hmm, so does that mean that the Headless Horse is the soul of an ancient killer equine? Interesting.
Hey, cool, I got it... kinda.
Huh... So he apparently DIDN'T need a prosecutor to tell him that Twilight Sparkle is Twilight Sparkle, just a magical apostrophe that can see people's secrets. That works.
So, about Dual Destinies... I knew it was going to be HIM. I "felt" that Capcom was going for the obvious route, like "Eh, we'll just have the killer be THAT chick, since everyone wants to slap her in the face for what she did, until she admits she was wrong and you suddenly want to give her a hug.", but no, they put actual THOUGHT into who the murderer was, and I was even able to guess it... though, it's a touch sad that he's basically Simon Keyes, except the intrigue lies not in the duality of his actions, but the what and how of WHO he is (My theory is that he's Rip Placer from Prosecutor's Path... It fits, doesn't it?)
I only have one question, though: Do I ship Apollo with Athena Cykes or Juniper Woods!? The JuniePolly ship is more canon and adorable... but the JustiCykes ship is interesting and equally adorable in its own right! WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!!!??? Please rid me of the doubt that lies in my hearts so that I... *slam!* can truly ship Apollo with someone!
5972717 Yeah, and all they needed to end racism was just some ice spirits. Jerks.
5972983 Ah, but that's the great thing about coins; there's another way of looking at them. While it's questionable as to why it's a high school setting, it's interesting to see how characters are transposed (I still say Discord is a guidance counselor). While we have a character/ship almost no one likes, we got one of the best characters the series had to offer... not as a villain, but as a redeemable character. While there were some songs that were dubiously unneeded, there were some that greatly reflected the context of the situation and were pleasing to hear... that's my piece, anyway.
5973057
That's another one. We had to endure near 100.000 years of Ice Age until Earth climate finally warmed , yet ponies ended theirs in less of a lifetime by holding hoofs and calling the Magic of Friendship.
Not. Fair.
5973252 PLUS... they have war-ending technology that DOESN'T involve the desolations of entire peoples! I mean, imagine if WE had Orbital Friendship Cannons! Think of the all the idiots and terrorist this could help reduce, WITHOUT resulting in immediate death (though mistrust amongst other nations will ALWAYS be a factor)!?
Excellent! This went above and beyond my expectations of Twilight and Phoenix's love life.
I especially love that part!
Keep up the good work!
Nice.
A horse.
I wonder...
Hm.
Ah, THAT incident.
She would LOATHE Frieza then.
Agreed.
Subtle.
She's lying. Hm, red psyche locks, and only 2 of them, so this isn't very important, but she does want to hide it.
Bingo.
Elaborate.
The first alicorn. Lucky bastards, we had to work our way from the ground upwards!
So that's what happened to Fausticorn.
Twilight! I'm surprised at you! You should know better than that!
Daaw!
Indeed.
Technically, humans are omnivorous.
Oh?
*sigh* Really?
5972717
That would be superficial, but that's not it. Her magic can make just about anyone match her prowess, but she's not interested in just anyone. She needs both physical and emotional compatibility in her lovers. For the former she likes powerful males that match her size and can truly make her feel like a mare/woman, while for the latter, it's like she said--there aren't many on either world who possess the wisdom and emotional maturity to be her lover. Ferro is one of the few. You'll find out more about him--and them--as we go.
5972962 5973758
Glad to know you enjoyed! For all of Twilight's power, yes, she's still a bit naive and insecure at times and, as Celestia just found out, she's not always aware of herself or her own power. Expect a fairly interesting talk between the two to come.
5972983 5973095
Eh, I'm with F14m3rz here. I can overlook Flash Sentry for also getting Sunset Shimmer. And yes, I agree some of the songs, especially in the second movie, were quite good.
Try bonobos instead. They're much more peaceful and sexually permissive.
Thought you'd like it. And things are just getting started for them...
Wish I could get someone to make art of this! And the Turnabout Storm novelization as well...
... OK, there's something I JUST have to show everyone.
5973799
Celestia versus Frieza... that would be interesting. I wonder what Celestia's power level would actually be as read through a scouter? Of course, her magic can't necessarily be measured by one. She might just turn the power of the sun itself on Frieza like a gigantic magnifying glass.
Well, keep in mind that this is basically the pony version of the creation story, and as such, the full truth is lost to the past and it's probably not as simple or straightforward as Twilight made it out to be. But yes, we did have Fausticorn in mind when we wrote that.
Twilight's powerful, but that doesn't mean she can't be insecure. The horse really threw her for a loop and even scared her. We will come back to this later, but ultimately, it falls to Phoenix to prove to her he loves her regardless of her form... and this was how he did it. I'll admit it; the horse was basically there to set-up this scene.
True, but that's not a distinction she's making right there. She liked Talonhoof in part for the predator/prey angle, and that's what she's remembering here.
Well, she doesn't usually present herself to him as an Alicorn or get hot and bothered as one, but there she is. Twilight's not the only one that will get made love to as a pony that night, as Ferro is about to find out.
Well, pun aside, the strength of his spirit is probably one of the reasons Tia was attracted to him. Again, more on this later.
5972717
Well, yes and no. Like I said in an earlier response, that's basically the pony equivalent of the creation story, and as such, you can be sure that the full truth is lost to time. It very likely is not as simple or quick as Twilight was making it out to be, but the one thing you can be certain *is* true from the story is that ponies were once horses, lacking true intelligence or magic. They know that in their hearts, and it's a big part of the reason why Twilight was so badly affected by seeing one.
EDIT: And yes, this original alicorn she speaks of did exist. I'm sure everyone can guess who it was.
Awesome new chapter! :D
This was awesomeness on a stick! a big ol stick!
Good work.
And lol... what a way to start and end a chapter!
Hahaha.
Keep it up kid, keep it up.
5974055 Expect a fairly interesting talk between the two to come.
some how I think that is just a little bit of a understatement.
5974089 My point with the EqG joke was a tinfoil hat theory that Faust left the show hearing of future plans of an actual ship when she'd said on record that she didn't want them. Sunset Shimmer is absolutely wonderful, and the rule 34 of her as a pony is great; we are all truly blessed to have her around.
Edit: Rainbow Rocks is actually pretty damn good. Truly, the sequel outshined the original in every conceivable way.
5974055 I really hope the next chapter is in the works and be uploaded real soon.
5974155
Pretty sure her power level is over 9000.
Fair enough.
Naturally.
Fair enough.
I see.
Very well then.
Well, I think there'd be a touch of difference between Twi seeing a horse, vs us seeing a chimpanzee or a gorilla in a zoo. Mainly that there is a zoo. Sure, Sleep-Deprived Applejack mentioned a zoo, but doesn't look like it's a regular thing in Equestria, with Fluttershy's compound, AJ's farm, or the Royal Gardens being the only examples of 'animal collections' we've seen--- perhaps 'go and gather animals' for zoos may be a holdover from the hunting period of our species, when we'd go out, gather, THEN kill n' eat? Certainly, it helps that we're predators, for us to gather more animal varieties than Ponies can.
Well, maybe not chimps and gorillas, more like if we saw a Homo heidelbergensis struttin' down main street:
farm5.static.flickr.com/4105/5071085511_ba1eb84a59_o.jpg
Hell, I've seen uglier hobos.
Though "seeing a horse being used as an animal" prolly didn't help Twi either.
Wow, can't help but notice the growing number of music links being added to key scenes in the story.
The music are really great as they make the mood of the scenes after it sink its emotional effect even more.
Props to the dj behind the music selections
That was very sweet of Phoenix to love Twilight as her pony self. It's strange, but I find human x pony are a lot more interesting than just human x human... in this case human x pony turned human.
5983264 That DJ happens to be me. I'm the fanfic's Music Guy.
(I am credit to team)
5984103 oh cool! glad to know who's behind that creative and feels-inducing idea
Really looking forward to what you guys will cook up next
5976080 Pretty sure the scouter would straight up explode
I have to admit I was expecting a bit worse than this after the drunken college frat party and "that scene" back in the main story, but fortunately my pessimism was unwarranted. :)
You're doing an admirable job of exploring the relationship and inherent challenges, and working in the differing perspectives of each character.
I appreciate that you've acknowledged the differences in facial structure when writing the characters kissing. As I mentioned in my comment on the main work, that was one thing that stood out as implausible during the departure scene. I must admit that even with your much appreciated additional comment on the characters experiences, I still can't quite see human-style kissing working with a pony-form muzzle. I find it odd that Twilight would even be familiar with the practice as it doesn't seem compatible for muzzles at all. "Eskimo kissing" would make more rational sense to me, but as an outsider to the fandom I might be alone in thinking that. Is lip kissing generally portrayed as part of pony intimacy in the fandom?
I particularly like how you're introducing Twilight to the concept of a non-sapient equine. I take it there are no extant horses in Equestria?
Will this be addressed further, perhaps with Phoenix introducing a comparison to our human precursor species or our fellow extant hominids?
5994506
Thank you! I'm surprised to see you here, but I'm very gratified that you are--since I assume you're not normally into clop, I take it as high compliment you approve. This is how I do adult fiction--it's not the sex, it's everything that goes into it; setting the scene and exploring the characters properly. May interest you to know that the full story of what happened at the party will be told in a later bonus chapter, and "that scene" (which was removed from the final full chapter Turnabout Storm thanks in large part to your commentary) will be included again as well.
It is, and I think we've seen kisses in the show more than once as well. Hmmm... well, if you'd like to read something where the question of kissing is more explored and explained, may I suggest the first chapter of Gentleman For Mares? It's an adult AU story where a portal has been opened between Earth and Equestria, and it's quite good. In fact, I drew on it for inspiration for this story and Turnabout Storm. If you don't want to read it, here's a relevant passage:
So yes, it is pretty much fanon and canon that ponies can and do kiss human-style. Just takes a little care and practice. I suppose you could make the argument that they hadn't had any practice at the end of Turnabout Storm, but I'll just say that Delta Requiem's spellsinging took care of that.
Well, I have no current plans to, say, take Twilight to a zoo, but the question of horses will be revisited fairly soon. It's interesting, though... we finally saw a truly horselike character in the show just recently in Troubleshoes. And if he's truly horse-sized, that finally gives a decent reference to the size of ponies, and makes them bigger than they're normally depicted... which was one of the assumptions I made for this story.
5994752
Quite so. As I did enjoy the novelisation of Turnabout Storm I coud hardly not do the courtesy of reading the first few chapters of the sequel side-story. :)
I suppose what interests me here is the exploration of an atypical romantic attraction. Including a non-human turns that up to eleven. This is all too often done poorly (see: Twilight. Uh, not the pony - the Stephenie Meyer craptacular.) Good examples are probably harder to find. Nothing specific comes to mind, maybe some of Piers Anthony's work... but I digress.
The difference here starts with the fact that there was enough chemistry between Twilight and Phoenix in the novelisation that I can plausibly buy a mutual interest developing into a nascent romantic attraction. Even though I do have gripes, you've done your job well. Getting that chemistry is no easy task.
The fact that it extends to physical intamacy flows well with the story. If it starts to feel forced or crude I'll probably jump ship, but as it stands my nitpicks are in the details. The overall thrust of the plot (no, no pun intended) is just fine.
Thanks for that! I wouldn't have wanted to wade through the fic itself. It's good that authors are at least thinking about the logistics, so to speak!
Fair enough. I suppose it's justified as a convention; personally I still can't quite buy it. But I ain't writing the story, and I'm not that familiar with the FiM source material.
If I could write, I would've already hammered out my own interpretation of a TwiWright reunion - and probably be halfway through my four-book Harry Potter AU and total rewrite of DBZ that I plotted ten years ago. :p
Alas. But at least I have competent authors such as yourself to keep me entertained!
Oh, I also forgot to compliment the thing with the horn. You addressed the somewhat uncomfortable phallic implications, and emphasised that Phoenix acknowledged them but did what felt right and natural for his partner. Well played.
5995398
Well then, welcome, and hope you continue to enjoy the ride.
I've never seen or read Twilight and I never will, but being compared to Piers Anthony is certainly a compliment. Now if only I could get paid like it...
Thanks! Gripes are fine, I'm just happy you think the overall story works.
Wonderful. I'll do my best to keep it that way. You will see some heavy clop scenes, and the bonus chapters will probably be more gratutious just for being bonus chapters, but I will not neglect the worldbuilding or character development, whether it's Phoenix, Twilight, Maya or Celestia. I try very hard to write sex to serve the story and the characters, as opposed to vice-versa.
Well, if you'd like to become more familiar, the biggest and most well-done fic that explores the differences between human and pony societies and how relationships would work is Xenophilia. It's got 5,880 upvotes for a reason, and is a major inspiration for my work.
As much as I'd love to take my own crack at DBZ, they're still churning out new movies. I just got DBZ: Battle of Gods and intend to watch it soon. Oh, and have you seen this extremely well-done fan-made live-action version that popped up on youtube in late February? Made for only $10,000, it's still far better than that big-budget movie they tried a few years back. Made by actual fans of the show who wanted to do it right. I give you The History of Trunks, revisited:
[derpy] Thank you! Thank you! [/derpy] There'll be some more of that to come, from both sides. Twilight's turn will come to do something that she would have previously considered unnatural or at least extremely kinky. It will make for some interesting discussion afterwards...
5984103 Go DJ, it's your birthday!
5994506 You forgot the ™ at the end of ‘that scene™’. Okay, sure, it isn't a tradition of yours, but I'm very fond of it. With that said, I'm really surprised, and delighted, to see that you enjoy this. Now if we can get Herakrosu over here to give it a — pffffft!
iambrony.steeph.tp-radio.de/mlp/gif/196670__safe_rainbow-dash_fluttershy_animated_spike-at-your-service_spoiler-s03e09_laughing.gif
Or perhaps not.
5998918
It's actually on the 9th of June, which is rather close up. But it's good to see you like the music as well.

6006184 Drunk or high or both is my guess.
6016301 Yeah, just read the Arrancar/Fullbringer Arc, and everything'll be just fine.
Well that happened...
8727402
Celly has needs too! Some pretty powerful ones, at that... plenty more Oh My moments to come!
You said this twice.
8929899
Oops. Sorry. I edited that paragraph a couple days ago and accidentally duplicated it. Fixed now.
Eh, don't worry; Phoenix won't ever see him again.
Miles will though; he'll become an important witness in multiple investigations.
9782966
So I’ve heard. I have never seen Ace Investigations 2 even though I’ve heard there’s a fan-made English dub for it. Phoenix also doesn’t ever see Lotta Hart again, but at least you’ll get a reason for that late in the story here.
Well, the question here is 'you don't find me attractive enough for a horse?', but 'do I look hot enough as a human girl?'
Yeah, that's pretty homo
9963530
The question is, is Phoenix only attracted to her as a human? Because if so, this could never work as Phoenix would be in love with the illusion and not the real deal.
Yeah, that's pretty homoI disagree given horns belong to both genders.
