Not at the same time. At different times. Using magical means, Twilight and other ponies can take human form while on Earth and can even alternate between their human and pony forms as needed. There are rules governing that and how long they can remain human (the rules are explained along the way), but the short of it is, Twilight does switch between human and pony form at various points in the story, and the story itself takes advantage of that.

I'll assume Nick now has magic, although it's passive at this point.

I’m sorry. I hate it when I accidentally upset a longtime reader. But still, what happens next may surprise you, and there is some method to my admitted madness. All I ask at this point is that you sit back and enjoy the ride. I’m cutting as loose as Celly here, but she’s me in some senses in that even as ‘Molly’ she would never hurt or do anything to anyone that’s unwilling. Ultimately, she’s not selfish; she derives pleasure by giving it to others, and therein lies the ultimate reason why Mia released her, at least temporarily. So stay tuned. I’ll have more to say in a blog later.

Heh. Celly is actually about that unstoppable when she wants to be! But in this case, there's a reason Mia is deliberately setting her loose again, though as I'm sure you know by now, it isn't revealed until the final chapter. Basically, Mia sees that Celly overcompensated for the sins of her past self and shut herself down too much, so she's trying to show her she can indulge safely under certain circumstances, and that she won't be lost to her past self afterwards.
