Not really big on fanfic writing, but when I'm in the mood I'll jot something down from time to time. I'd much rather frequent sites like YouTube, DeviantArt, and Facebook

T

A poem about the Changelings, and their invasion of Canterlot, told from the viewpoint of the Queen herself, Chrysalis. That's it, really.

A little fun fact about this poem; This originally was a song that I - yes, I - was going to do on my YouTube channel. You can still check out the WIP Version here.

However, since I was never able to find somebody to help provide the chorus for the song, I abandoned the project, and now, several months later, my song resurrects in the form of a poem. Funny how life works, isn't it?

Well, anyhoo, please enjoy the poem, and most importantly, eat your greens and vegetables. Or Carrot Top will haunt you! DUN DUN DUUUN!

I'm so jealous of those who can write poetry. Nice job.

Wow nice, maybe that will get some attention and you will make song from this ;p

You've nothing to be jealous about. You are a great poet, and I don't even need to know you to make that statement.

A poem is more than just a bunch of fancy words strung together and such. A poem that you put effort into is special no matter how popular or how judged it gets.

I just write poetry on this site because I wasn't that good at writing decent stories, so you could take comfort in knowing that I'd be jealous of you being able to write a good story.

I DID have this as a song. Follow the link in the description, and you can see the WIP video I did. I never finished the project because I couldn't get anyone to do the chorus parts i had made. Not that it matters now, because my song can serve another purpose as a poem here on this site.

Oh, and when or if you listen to the video, that IS me singing. I used some editing tools to make my voice sound more...Changeling-like.

I'm not really into poetry, but I like the idea of this one.

...Even if the idea of emo Chrysalis, lounging on her throne and writing sad poetry about her defeat is oddly hilarious.

Anyway, liked and faved.

I am a Changeling, and my body is colored black.
Nobody loves me, and so I don't love them back.
I see those ponies walk by dressed in fancy clothes.
Their snobbish talk makes me want to punch them in the nose

XD

Every time I succeed in making somebody laugh, the world becomes a little more of a better place, and scientists get one step closer to harnessing the power of Chuck Norris' tears to cure Cancer.

Of course they have to get him to cry first...

I'm glad to hear that... but watch this!

Actually his stunt-double, but still...

Awesome poem! I loved Chrysalis's cocky voice, and then her vengeful resentment at the end. Always up for a good retelling of an episode.

Like and fave.

YAY!
Also, congratulations for continuing the Severed Roots story! Your latest chapter was hilarious regarding Granny Smith, and I'm dying to see Turner appearing in Manehatten again.

I'm hoping to see more of Card Slinger soon. While he is cruel and malicious, it is only because of what Madhoof did to him, and as you have shown in previous chapters, h isn't entirely evil himself. He could have shot Babs back in Appleloosa, but he didn't, choosing to spare her as she had him. And that he cried over the death of his loyal friend shows he still has some humanity in him (or should that be pony-anity?), so I think he's worthy of redemption towards the end, though i don't see him surviving.

With Card Slinger, I imagine his only outcome is death, but he can die in a way that absolves his sins. For example, he could die trying to take down Madhoof just before he is about to kill Babs, or better still, Applebloom, since he'd know how devastating it would be to make her watch her beloved mare die right in front of her. Additionally, Card Slinger's death, if you choose to kill him that is, wouldn't be entirely a sad one, since he'd be able to unite with his parents again, and his friend who died in Appleloosa. (god damn it what was his name?!?

Madhoof, on the other hoof (lol), there's just no fucking way you can let him live, Bad_Seed_72. There's just no way. If they arrest him, he'd still make everyone's life a misery, he'd still be able to co-ordinate his operations from within a prison cell. And if he ever broke free, all of the other characters would be back to square one, and end up witnessing friends and families die and suffer all over again.

But while I believe that Madhoof needs to die, it is who exactly should kill him that i'm struggling to decide over. Babs would have more reason to kill him in a way, but the same can be said for every other character who suffered at his cruelty. Card Slinger had some opportunities to take him down, so i think he already blew his chance, though he could still maybe assist in killing him, like injuring him with a shot or something. Then there's Turner, who knows that Madhoof was still cruel and heartless in his youth. But could Turner really bring himself to kill his own brother? He'd contemplate that doing so would make him no better than the bastard, which could lead to him being merciful and sparing Madhoof's life, only for him to attack Turner when he turns his back.

Could Turner kill Madhoof if he tried to threaten his daughter's life, then?

You're in control of the story, obviously because you're writing it, but at this point there are SO many ways in which the story could end once we cross that metaphorical bridge, that I simply can't contain my excitement for what surprises you might try to throw our way.

I hope to see the next chapter soon. But do not rush it! Your work is at its greatest potential when you think it through and take the time to plan it out.

Hehe, wow! Thanks for the comment! :pinkiegasp: (Wasn't expecting to see it here, lol. :rainbowlaugh:)

I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter and hope you enjoy the remainder!:pinkiehappy:

Boone. :moustache:

Interesting thoughts and analysis here. I hope you do enjoy what I have planned and that it proves to be an awesome conclusion to the series! :moustache: And you are exactly right... rushing is never good. I took my sweet time with this last chapter (:rainbowlaugh:), a little too much, but I'm happy with how it turned out.

Thanks again and keep on being awesome! :pinkiehappy:

When I saw the title and read the description of this almost being a song, I thought it would be a parody on the song "We are the Champions."
I'm glad I was proven wrong. Though that would be an interesting version of the song...
:pinkiegasp: You could do it. Or not.

Half-way through, I half-expected you to hint at, or show that, Chrysalis feels bad about what she's doing, harming innocents where peace may have been possible.

4857293 I actually DID do a short song using this poem of mine. You can find it on my YouTube channel. I wanted to sing more of it, but I never could find someone to do the instrumentals for the song so I abandoned the project.

Shame. I worked very hard on getting the right sort of voice. Sigh.

4857308 you sure?????????????

5394908 Yes I'm pretty sure I half-expected that. :trollestia:

How i pity

Capitalize that I. In any case nice... Though some verses don't rhyme so much but I guess poetry isn't all about rhyming.
