Not really big on fanfic writing, but when I'm in the mood I'll jot something down from time to time. I'd much rather frequent sites like YouTube, DeviantArt, and Facebook

Princess Luna was saddened that ponies did not show appreciation for her beautiful night sky one thousand years ago. Her sadness turned into bitterness, and her bitterness turned her into the terrible Nightmare Moon.

One thousand years later, Princess Luna was given a second chance to rule the kingdom of Equestria by her sister's side once more. But still that same saddening thought lingered in her head.

So the Mare of the Night takes flight to the far cold mountains of the North, and there, she sings her woes, and ponders over the answer to the question that cost her everything she had all those years ago.

Inspired by a scene from the 2013 animated Disney film, 'Frozen'.

Awe, that was SO BEAUTIFUL! :fluttercry: Do not underestimate yourself! That was amazing!

3849604 Are you the same Octavia from the last story I put up? XD

Pretty kewl. Noice.

3849840 YAY! Time to Follow you, then!

That was pretty nice, actually, and borders on lyrical prose.

Talk about timing. I just saw Frozen in theaters today, and I loved the song "Let It Go".

Luna singing "Let it Go" from Frozen? :pinkiegasp: I want that to happen.

On a strange note, Elsa is the older sister like Celestia, but she's initially feared for her ice powers much like how Luna used to be VERY intimidating and not have enough love. Plus, both of them ARE rulers and are both crazy-popular with many people.

WHY ISN'T THERE A LUNA EMOTE!? >:(

Nice! I just found this after watching Frozen... And this was epic!

You? A terrible writer?

Bullshit. You crafted something here I wish I'd thought to write. The rose here is borderline musical in spots -- although some of the sentences were awkwardly paced, I'd say this one-shot is better than about 90% of anything on this website. It's a lyrical style that drives me crazy with jealousy.

You capture a feeling of doubt and loneliness that lends extremely well to Luna's character, making me wish she had more screentime in the show so she could do something like this -- I mean, if they gave Discord a song about being sick, why not a song about Luna feeling lost and alone?

This story is one scene in length, but it says more about Luna than most chapters-long fanfics ever could. For that, I give this story a perfect score: five moustaches out of five.

3853038 If you knew just how happy your comment has made me, you'd be smiling just from seeing my smile right now.

3851919 Really? Wow! I haven't seen Frozen yet. I actually have only seen the clip where Elza (I hope that's right) sang the song on YouTube. But I have liked Disney films since I was small. My first ever film by Disney was Peter Pan, and I kinda always related to the character in that I never grew 'grew up' as I got older. I retained the innocence and life of my childhood, and I intend to keep it with me as long as I can. Thank you for sparing some time to read my story, and I wish you the most pleasant day or evening to you.

3850947 It is rare for me to find a song that can invoke emotions in me. Besides that song, the only other one that could make me cry was the theme from 'Titanic'. I may be a guy, but I am entitled to feels as well, right? XD

3851913 Well, it's funny actually. I sort of do animations on my YouTube channel. I'm not exactly the best animator in the world, but I do throw the best of my skills, few as they are, into my work, to make them as decent and worthy for my viewers as I can. I' actually starting on doing a special MLP / Skyrim video project today, and hopefully have it finished before my birthday in March, but if you'd like to see it, then I could squeeze in some time to make such an animation. It might not be exactly what you'd expect, but I'll do my best to make it worth your attention. :pinkiehappy:

3853250 I have no idea if thats right.... But same hear with Disney movies!

This story is so beautiful!

I love portrayals of Luna that show her as a more complex character, rather than using her as a source of cheap humor or an antagonist. Setting it against a snowy backdrop was a perfect touch. The whole story was hauntingly beautiful. Bravo! I wish I could give it more than one thumbs-up.

I really liked this.

Oh glob! I feel them feels coming! (aka im crying tears of joy/sadness):raritydespair::applecry:

That was certainly beautiful.
Thanks for writing!

So, this was inspired by a scene from "Frozen?" I'll just take your word for it, since I still haven't had a chance to watch it yet... :fluttershysad:

By the way, I happened to notice a minor error:

to reveal her long and marvelous mane, which one could only described as though it were a part of the very night itself,

You should probably drop that last "d" in described.

I am terrible at writing, it's true,

Really? :ajbemused: After writing something like this, that's what you think? I'm going to have to agree with 3853038 completely on that sort of horseapples. If you were terrible at writing, I would have never bothered to even look at a few of your other stories.

Amazingly descriptive story based on a song that, yes, is overplayed as hell but still incredibly powerful and undeniably beautiful.

6834902 And to you, an amazingly nice looking avatar that, while based off an old cartoon series that got f**ked up as a movie series courtesy of Micheal Bay, nonetheless looks moderately better with a Twilight Sparkle head slapped on.

Top kek! Double thumbs up. Three if I counted my throbbing...um, never mind.

6834924 Why, thanks. Yeah, the movies sucked but fortunately Transformers: Prime fixed that.

6834959 Transformers; Rarely In Disguise.
