Davidism

I write novels about crime, fantasy, and the supernatural. Sometimes, I write about ponies... is for fun!

When Rainbow Dash stands up Applejack once too often, it's going to take a miracle to earn her friendship back. Fortunately, an injured and bed ridden AJ makes a good opportunity for Rainbow Dash to demonstrate her friendship, and then some.

Very nice! A few grammatical errors here and there but they can be easily identified and fixed. Otherwise, this was a good story and definitely worth my time. Like and a fave!

Thanks. I normally at least let my wife browse over my work to nit-pick at the grammar, but no amount of begging and pleading or bribery on my part could convince her. Especially when I'm over a month behind schedule on my novel, and I am constantly feeling the heat of hot angry breath on the nape of my neck.

I'll have something dark and moody for you soon.

Loyalty isn't the same thing as punctuality. I portray each of the characters as having serious character flaws that have nothing to do with their element. Applejack may be the element of Honesty, but she is prideful, stubborn, and constantly holds other ponies to her level of expectation. I wanted to explore these traits some as they would definitely be present in a relationship between two of them.

I came for AppleDash, and I'm not disappointed at all. A good contribution to the AppleDash community. Congrats

Thanks. Romance is typically not my forte, but I wanted to step from my comfort zone a tad.

Alright, I'm pretty confused by this story. Why are you saying RD was standing her date up? wasn't it made clear in the story that something bad had happened leaving her with
no choice? I can't really see AJ blaming her for something like that.

Also, my main confusion with this story is that at no time (even after finishing it) did I ever understand their relationship with each other. I realized they were going to
confess at the end, but then I find out they're already dating? And they already had sex? :rainbowhuh:

So, what exactly is the point of this story? They're already in love with each other, so that kind of makes the confession redundant. Rainbow didn't learn not to stand her
date up, because she had a completely legitimate excuse for not being able to show up. In other words, no one learned anything, nothing new was confessed, and nothing really
changed. So, again, what did I miss here?

I think maybe you're trying too hard. If I have to do that much explanation, then the story is lost to the void of the mundane. But since you asked.

Why are you saying RD was standing her date up? wasn't it made clear in the story that something bad had happened leaving her with no choice? I can't really see AJ blaming her for something like that.

As far as AJ knew, Rainbow Dash did stand her up. I established that Rainbow Dash has done something similar, if not the same thing time and time again; proving herself to be very unreliable... loyal, but untrustworthy somewhat in regards to when she says she'll be somewhere. People in real life do this too.

Also, my main confusion with this story is that at no time (even after finishing it) did I ever understand their relationship with each other. I realized they were going to confess at the end, but then I find out they're already dating? And they already had sex?

People can have sexual encounters that don't include actual copulation. Experimentation sexually is not the same thing as a full blown exclusive sexual relationship. Just because they may have screwed doesn't mean they are each other's life partner.

Both Rainbow Dash and Applejack were struggling with a social crisis. Each knows they love the other, but each also knows what is expected of them, either by their society, or by their family, friends or peers. Identity is a major factor in their exclusivity. As long as they played around at romance, it was fine... but the minute that they exchanged their confessions, their futures would never be the same anymore.

So, what exactly is the point of this story? They're already in love with each other, so that kind of makes the confession redundant. Rainbow didn't learn not to stand her date up, because she had a completely legitimate excuse for not being able to show up. In other words, no one learned anything, nothing new was confessed, and nothing really changed. So, again, what did I miss here?

Uh... I think maybe you missed everything. I'm going to give you the same advice I give my nephews when they get excited. "Chew your food slowly. You'll get more out of it."

The first point I made was a mistake. I had lost my internet connection and had to redo my comment, but forgot to add the comment I was replying to. I was replying to this comment:

Which, when I first read it, made me think you were saying that her having a valid excuse didn't really matter. That was before I realized you meant to imply that RD had done pretty much the same thing multiple times before. That said, I really don't see a pony like Rainbow doing something like that enough times to make even AJ not fully trust her. Still, I get what you meant now.

I won't go into detail responding to the last two points because they were over a misunderstanding. I thought the going out and being intimate made the relationship rather obvious to begin with, which led to my last point, but that was before I realized you meant to imply other things such as Rainbow not showing up (as mentioned above).

Thanks for the reply, even if most of my comment was over a mistake I made in understanding the story. :pinkiehappy:

Ok, not bad of a story, I like it.
